What's NS content like these days?

Been out of the loop for 3-4 years, some stuff looks really familiar others totally new. What's the content environment like these days if you had to sum it up?

Bonus if you point me to something awesome I've missed.

I’ve been back on the train recently as well. Feels maybe a bit more mature than it used to be.

I'm kinda missing the old like crew style videos that used to be everywhere. Like back in the day everyone used to make videos with their friends and put them out pretty reliably. Guess we all got old and either turned proooo or quit?

Yeah, I've missed the crew videos too!

IDK, I feel like even though I'm on the site every day, I'm out of touch with the content creation side. Looks like there's still some decent photography going on. Not as many interesting written pieces as I'd like to see though. Thanks Rusty for changing that yesterday.

It's funny, I feel like a bunch of the people I came up with are still killing it, but not on NS as much? I know personally, I'm illustrating for most of my living now, but I haven't put as much of that on NS as maybe I should have? Haven't written an article on here for years either...

I keep wanting to come back and go hard on the content front here, I really miss the community that would read and watch stuff and comment and keeps things interesting, but I feel like maybe the incentive hasn't been there for me personally? Hard to know.

When I started out on here, NS was more important than IG because more people were viewing and interacting with my work here than on the 'gram. Now though, Instagram feels like it's reaching a bigger audience? And now I write columns for the local paper, instead of on here because they pay me to, and I like it when old ladies at the grocery store want to chat.. IDK, someone convince me to come back and pour my soul into NS like I used to love to do!

it's nice to know I'm not the only one who sees it [tag=195966]@cydwhit[/tag] and glad to hear you're doing well!

just seems like everything that is left is so... serious? What happened to the hood crews the totally Trevor the mole squads of the world? I saw woodsy is putting out a webisode, but alas, it too is "serious".

I'd be up for finding a way to contribute to the community again like Cy said if anyone has a vision or any thoughts on how to do that in a way that makes sense.

I've been meaning to reply to this for ages and just been swamped by various things. So dope to see you back on the site and back skiing [tag=114786]@katrina[/tag] ! Thanks to everyone who has jumped in here so far for the feedback, it's always good to have something to work with.

I agree that on the news side, stuff has been pretty dry. We've done a lot of reviews, interviews and comp coverage because they all perform predictably and well and have come to be expected. Since this post popped up we've seen a few more pretty solid user-generated articles and I've reached out to Borty/Irrelevant to see if they want to do more, I'd be stoked if they did because those were some of the most entertaining pieces I've seen lately.

I've also reached out to Cy about getting him back on the program, so I'm stoked for that to happen!

On the video side, we've been trying to use some of our limited content budget to support crews doing cool things in the streets. We put some money into the Forre movie launch and the same for Keeshlife 2. I would like to do the same again and with even more videos if the right projects come along. There has been a bit of a lack of 'fun' projects like their used to be from yourself, Trevor et al. If you've got ideas, definitely hit me up because I'm always down to discuss making something happen on that front too.
