Whats Going on with Sno?

Man oh man.. whats going on with them? Speculation is encouraged. It sounds to me like they just don't know what they are doing? Apparently there was a ton of stuff in the way and that prevented them from blowing snow when they could. but now everyone is saying the set-ups really suck, are they relying on Neptune that much that they can't tweak lips and stuff?

i don't ride boulder or sno often but i was at sno last weekend, what they have up is their small stuff apparently, the rest is coming in soon, and its gonna be doooope. besides that everything in sno's park is set up so damn well they have a good crew this year as far as i can tell

^^^^^^ so, did you over shoot the last jump or knuckle it? :)

Weather is playing havoc with thaw and freeze cycles. THey change stuff around every week, so some people like one set up and then they don't like the change, but then somebody else like the change!

*Freedom seems to always be a hit, a fun little jib park.

*Love Park is a work in progress, so send in suggestions or post them!

*Boulder is the experts park - be careful!!! The landings/hieght will change as snowblowing weather will allow

*Plaza gets it's 4-6 hiking jibs changed around it seems weekly.

There are a couple of other parks planned. THink more cold weather, the 10 day looks marginal, which is good for Boulder because they might be able to freshen things up with a dusting.

Sno's park this year is all about flow and being fun. They seem to want nothing huge in their park right now. Their first plan in the beginning of the year was to overtake the race course which is right on the side of the park and to combine the two trails into one. They wanted to have a huge jump line on the race course, with rails and other small tables in what is now the park, along with the 22' pipe. The head of the race team cried because he didn't want us to overtake his slope, so we just let him keep it. Hopefully next year we can over take it and do as was planned.

As for this years big park, its up and running right now. We got it opened during all the rain and crap, despite pushing down 1 jump and the 3 smaller rollers that were set up for rails to be put on them. I got to ride the park Friday night before they had to push that stuff down. Nothing is huge, but the park had so much flow to it. You hit one jump, go into a rail, hit 2 jumps in a row, go into another jump, hit a rail, go into another 2 sets of jumps, then go into a line of rails at the end. Despite how small the jumps are, it was really fun just to ride and do small spins over them with various grabs. Next time our park builders come in im going to talk to them about the whole " we need bigger jumps" thing, and hopefully I can spend a night with them in the cat to show them what I mean.

Our small park should be back up today. We had to demolish it because of the rain. Last night me and 2 other park crew members helped the snow makers take down a good 10-15 lights down from the top of the snowmaking building. Those lights will be set up in the big park for more light.

^^ Nick take some pics and post them.

What is the stright story on the pipe, are they really going to try and blow one in this year?

I never bring my camera up. I think im going to film once we get some more snow on the slope.

They signed the Revolution Tour document, or whatever it was, and you need to have a 22' pipe, along with a legit park and a boarder cross tail. We have the starting gate in the garage for the boarder cross so my guess is that they will have the 22' pipe. I don't think their exactly sure where are going to put that thing yet. If they put it on the park as it is now, its going to take up too much space, and plus they cant put anything too close to those huge power lines that make all the lifts run. Supposedly if you come within 15 feet of them our getting a nice shock. I don't know if you have to be on the ground while touching them or not, just one of the kids I work with told me that.

When is the Revolution Tour? Nips wants to hit some pipe this season, as it stands now he only gets to work on pipe at the events them selves. I know he loved the Pipe at COC last summer (18')

I am betting that if they do get the pipe up in time for the Revolution thing that pipe won't be available for the public.

Revolution Tour starts February 29th, and go up until March 2nd I think. The pipe will be sick when they get it up. Im not a pipe kinda guy, but im sure it will bring in a lot of riders throughout the eat just to ride a super pipe. Our 13' pipe last year was pretty legit. The way Sno works with pipes tho is weird. The sun only shines on one side of the mountain causing one wall to be soft, and the other to remain hard. Im sure they will do something about that for the tour tho. Im sure neptune himself will be in for the whole thing. He only came once so far in the beginning of the year. I think he hates the place after he broke his arm there haha.
