Are core shots only from the base because i was examining my invaders today and they have a shit load of chips after 4 days of use( i was epecting this and i dont really care because the bases are still beautiful) but there were some deep chips that weant down to the wood( the core im guessing)

this is nothing bad, correct?

Core shots can be anywhere, they just happen to be on the base more commonly because contact with variable surface conditions. If you did expose the core anywhere, it needs to be fixed. Any exposure of the core will let the snow permeate and rot it. If you don't know for sure if it's the core you are seeing, take it to a shop and have them look it over. They can fix it easily most of the time with epoxy work if you don't know how.

core shots are bad but easy to fix if you know what you are doing. if you can see wood take it to a shop because the constant freeze and thaw action will get deep in to the wood and turn it to mush if you let it go long enough.

If it looks bad, epoxy and wax. Or take it to a shop if you're that hung up over the niceness of your new skis.

shit the exxacct same thing happened to me (like its a small chip showing wood) and i was just at the shop getting my forward pressure checked but didnt think to mention this. fuck now my dad wont take me back for liek a week because he's lazy.

Yes, core shots are bad. Moisture inside the wood of your skis is no good. Most ski shops can fix them up for you
