How would you re-act to your favorite professional skier coming out and admitting to being gay? Hypothetically speaking all their sponsors were okay with it, and would endorse them as an athlete no matter what their sexuality. Would this change your views on them? does it truly matter? I thought this the other day, then made the comment to my girlfriend. Which provoked me to see what the newschoolers community would think.

I would probably say "good for them for being brave enough to come out". Then absolutely nothing would change
 
When Jon finally admits it, I win $100 from a buddy. Honestly who gives a shit. I ski for me, does some kid they pay to sell shit to other kids change my thoughts on anything? No. I know 3 people that ski and are also gay. My world did not end, change or even skip a beat.

I would be stoked. That would be one more barrier down. There has been a lot of progress in recent years, but there is still a long way to go. If someone feels they might catch a lot of hate for it they might feel it unnecessary to come out. I'm hoping at some point some people will step up in different sports. They're out there, but when you're already in the public eye that much I can understand them not wanting to bring a ton of attention to themselves in that manner.

I feel the need to mention this. Watch what you say. You really never know who might hear you. You might not know things about the people around you. It really sucks when people around you even your "friends" say fucked up things.

We've made a ton of progress and that's awesome, but there is still a ton of hate out there.
