i would call that a VISOR or visual instrument and sensory organ replacement. You ca not see through them like sun glasses because it scans on an electromagnetic spectrum that creates a visual input through his optic nerves.. It is not like normal sight.. it shows energy invisible to the normal human eye, infrared, and also at a microscopic level.
