I've been doing a lot of videograpahy work lately and now I'm getting to the point where people are asking me how much my rates are and I really don't know what to tell them. There's a Tiesto concert in July and I said I'd do that for $250. What price do you guys charge or would charge? A guys is now asking me about rates and he runs a club and would need me pretty regularly. Also I'm asking the same question about photography, how much do you charge for a night? This is the type of video I did for free.. you can also tell me what you did or didn't like about the vid if your feeling like it, I always like constructive criticism

honestly, thats kinda low, ive done a few weddings for 500$ a pop, and thats even consider very inexpensive, but if you want more reliable answers ask on dvxuser.com

im in the same boat as you. I do tons of work for clubs and DJ's which is just about the easiest thing ever. take the footage drop a track in FCP and edit with some flow. if its like a 2 minute video , i would charge 250. for something around 4-5 I would charge 500$.
Alot of people dont understand how easy it is to make videos. So charge them up if you dont think they can help you out.
As for tiesto I would charge them a cheaper rate because A. youll have a good time B. youll end up making contacts from doing a video for such a major artist and C. very good for your demo reel.

Word of advice, never ask how much to charge for work on an internet forum, that's bad practice.

I always just ask them what my service is worth to them. Then they want to do right by you, because you did a good job.
