this thread isn't for making fun of other noobs... its for making fun of yourself when you were a noob. how was your first rail? first attempt at a spin? any one piece suits? put it all here... just share all of your noobish stories with the NS community.

yesterday i was starting to learn how to snowboard, because instructors that ski and snowboard get paid better, and i unsnapped my binding just to realize that my foot was on a 6 inch tether

i did my first rail just about a week ago, in throw_um_big's backyard... im in his "my backyard" edit for like 1 second after a few of the crashes, i am in a white/grey jacket and silverish pants... not very stylie but ok for first time... i am going to get the footy from his and make a longer edit...

I used 2 ski with 3 quarter nike pants and a sweatshirt because I didn't like jackets. my first skis were 141s when I was 5"3

i landed my first 3 in either 4th or 5th grade- cant remember it was off a little bump on the side of the trail. as for rails i cant really remember but i started off on boxes i think

i am a noob, and when i tried my first rail...i just slid off of it onto my hip and left a permenent little bruise/bloodblister. that was last year...after that i just stopped cuz i think it was the end of the season and so im gonna try to do it again this year and im gonna go for my first real jump...ive done like 180s and little grabs off of like mini jumps tho

haha i was learning how to ski and i didnt know how to stop or turn so i kinda flew straight down the mountain and i tried to fall down to stop but i ended up sitting on my skis, i slid under this fence and right out of the resort and they wouldnt let me back for a while and then someone told them what happened and they wouldnt let me come in anyways because i was out of control

haha that's steve stepp... someone took some old footage and made a promo to make fun of him

i remember my friend told me that rails were "so slippery" and i would slip back instantly. I took this to heart, and i remember that most of my first falls involved me falling forwards and landing with my chest on the rail.

3 years ago...this picture explains it all

me?

Crystal mountain south backcountry if I remember correctly

there are cliffs and cornices from 5-50 feet or more. Awesome place.

pfft.. let's see.. if i remember correctly, when i was.. 10 or was it 11? this older dude juss tore down the mt., then crashed into me.. lol it's hilarious now, but then, i think i had a huge bruise on the back of my legs...

i realized that i learned pretty quickly, after on really skiing about 6 days in the park i learned allot

it took me a good few months to finally realize what "pm" meant. and for skiing. My first t-bar expedition was horrific. i had never ridden one, was really nervous, so as soon as i got the bar, i just sat down with all my weight. but the string is elastic so i just fell straight to the ground, then it like pulled me. They had to stop the lift, then i hadda do the awkward jump with my skis on for like a minute to try and reach the T-bar that was like 6in out of reach. Then someone in line was like "just let it pull out up," and i awkwardly made it up the hill. It was awesome.

they shouldn't have it's fucking people like you who run into someone and kill them because they're out of control

Hahahaha, I love that video, it was great.

Awesome how the "I like men" randomly was thrown in there, classic

haha i agree

but now i am way better

after that i just skiied on the little ass kids slope until i figured out how to stop and it was just uphill from there

yes you where you dumb mother fucker you didn't show up at the hill one day then dropped a dope line in the park you were probably one of the bigges noobs here

my first attempt at a rail got it the second time though

ohh, actually I was a noob for a few minutes.

My first rail was 4 or so feet high with a 2 or so foot gap between the jump and the rail. I hit it, slipped off, landed with my pole planted in the ground, face on the top of the pole, lotsa blood.

My first rail attemps were on some shitty log we set up in like 7th grade. Pretty sure i ate shit. First 360 attempts I almost landed but it took me awhile to get them good.

i started out on snowblades cause i thought that they were the shit back in the day. after one season of embarassment i switched to skis, learned how to slide rails on an 8 ft mailbox and landed the first 3 i ever tried, thanks to my awesome experience on blades
