I got my Panasonic tm700 used for about $600 and I'm really happy with it.

In my opininion you could go 2 ways

You could get a go pro and go good \

or get a real dslr from canon (t3i or whatever suites you budget)

Get a used T2i and a few good lenses. used body is around 3-400 500 max and then you can get the 50mm 1.8 for under 100 and the kit lens

No, for 600 bucks he shoul invest in a decent camcorder which works without tons of accecories. To get a dslrvideosetup you have to pay at least 1500

ummm... not at all... you're an idiot.you can buy a T2i body for ~500 or less, (or a cheaper micro 4/3 like the Gf2) even with the kit lens it is good. Then you can upgrade once you get more money.

You dont need to spend 1500 bucks...

I think it'd be a better investment to get a cheap micro 4/3 body (or a normal sized dslr) than a camcorder since you can invest more later on. If you are only planning on making one purchase than yes a camcorder would probably be best. Panasonic M4/3 cameras are pretty good and can go for under $4-500
