What to use?

what can i use for a summer set up to simulate snow? i have astro turf but it doesnt work good enough. what about that weird orange fencing?
 
that orange stuff works ok. like the best is when u have that over a hard surface, not grass. like have boards under it. no ice rinks in your town?
 
why isnt the turf working? we used wet carpet and it worked fine... oh and the orange snow fencing is beat dont waste your time
