What to do with my old skis?

I'm sure many of you guys are in the same boat as me; I've got 3 or 4 pairs of twins that I don't use any more and I don't know what to do with.

I don't want to throw them away, but I don't want them just stood in a coner of the garage or in the attic. One of my friends suggested making a bench from them or something. You guys got any ideas?
 
To give a proper suggestion, we'll need to see the skis. If not your own pics, then at least google pics of the topsheets.

If you're trying to re-purpose, then aesthetics are very important.
 
They are all old battered and have seen better days! I won't be skiing on them and I very much doubt anyone will but them!
 
Well if you really want to know you could probably just answer this yourself, if you need money go ahead and sell them if they are in working condition, if not do whatever! Have fun with them!
 
using skis for benches and shit should be a crime (unless it's a shot ski)

experiment with that shit. do a full base transplant or something crazy. Make a fucking biplane ski.

Whatever you do, make sure they are still used for sliding on snow (or drinking alcohol, that is an acceptable alternative)
 
Guys at Aberdeen have got about 3 billion spare skis drilled up on the wall, think there's a bench at the top of the slope too, but if you like you could just send me them.
 
everyone could use an old beat up pair of still useful skis. It depends on your definition of "old skis"
 
missing pieces of edge catch easily on rails. that's when I decide they're too beat, because Im tired of falling.

I still have some beat to shit AR5s for super early season messing around on rocks though, so much fun.
 
Just use your old ones as summer or urban skis or save them til u have enough to make a bench or chair or something. I also made a shelf type thing out of a pair of old Domains. So that could work too.
 
take 2 pairs and make a double wide ghetto pair

1. find board as wide as 2 skis

2. screw board to skis

3. screw bindings to middle of board

4. ski

try and surf some pow in them

ski 2. make something cool like a chair made out of skis, or shelves. or on the bottom of a couch and go couch skiing

ski 3. keep as a pair of urban so you dont messup your good skis
 
nah dude find a big open wall and do a ski timeline. hang em up in the order you skied em then every time you retire a pair you add it to the timeline so that by the time your like 40 you have a dope ass collection
 
I think the most rewarding thing is to give them to somebody that is a super casual skier and give them the push they need to start skiing again.
 
I would love to use them for urban, but living in England the chances of that are fairly slim. All three pairs have no edges and the sidewall has been ripped off as well. If anyone wants to buys some shitty ass skis let me know.

The ski time line idea is a pretty rad idea, although I don't think I have a wall big enough!my landlord would go fucking nuts aswell!
 
Doesn't hurt to have them laying around. Not to mention you'll have a plethora of skis to choose from if your main weapons decide to crap out on you.

I never sell any skis I used for more than one winter, and lay them on the wall of my old room at my parents' place when I visit. Lots of good memories whenever I see them all.
 
Ski shelf it is, seems like the that's the most effective/least effort! Althought the ski fence is sweet if I had enough skis!
 
He means chunks of edge, like if you pull only a section of edge out and there's a big sharp spot where the chunk had seperated itself from the rest of the ski. That most definately will not slide better.
