What to do in the summer

Skiing in Quebec is ending soon, sure we got A-camp in a bit but what to do after that, I don’t got 200$ a day to go to the airbag, what should I do

Find a summer sport you like. Bike, skate, trail run, kiteboard, whatever it is it'll help keep you from obsessing about skiing all summer, and it'll also keep you in shape

I skate in the summer a lot, used to bike. Skating is just boring to me now tbh

I made a thread about missing skiing in summer or smthn like that last spring and one person said to get a slackline and do rail tricks on it and i finally got one this spring and it was such a good purchase It is so much fun and Im just hitting the tip of the iceberg on what you can do on it. You can flip off of it, do as many spins as your heart desires, and even put it across a water gap and practice risk free. Some other things people mentioned that helped a lot were skateboarding, trampoline, jumping off of random objects (couches to cliffs (with water), whatever you can find) and there were a few more i think you can check

Go treeplanting - afford more skiing after.

Dude I’ve heard you can make bank but I looked into tree planting this summer aand only found ones that pay like $18/hr which isn’t a whole lot for western WA. Any tips?

Try gym bouldering. It's basically physical problem solving. Easy to start, just get rental shoes and start climbing. Also it's only hobby out side of skiing that i have been able to stick with for longer than few months. Only downside is smelly bums and shoes.

I actually have lot to do and try this summer.

I'm finally going to surf, I'm trying to learn wing foiling, i need to start going to the gym and start running.

Also I'm going to try skateboarding again this summer, maybe i will learn to kickflip this time. Skateboarding is scary though.

Mountain biking is the way to go. Looks like you have a ton of options in your area. Invest in a bike with decent suspension and it will change your life.

step 1 - move to nyc for accessibility to big snow all summer

step 2 - realize everything is too expensive and only end up getting to big 1 day a week max because you work yourself to death

step 3 - move back home at the beginning of winter and ask yourself why you did that

step 4 - repeat next summer

(skip steps 2&3 if you have rich parents)

I weigh about 140 right now and got a 50 canadian dollar one of amazon and its been fine for me so far. Havent seen any concerning signs yet except for the fact that its really scary to untension the line when you are done but otherwise all good. Long term its probably best to pay a bit extra but i dont regret getting this one yet.

I have heard it is not the same in the states, I am from the great white north where it is more of an industry. Here it is pay by the tree, and I usually make 20̷k in 2½-3 months. It does take experience to get up there, I would say first year could expect 7-10̷k in the same time.

Disc golf is fun for a few times per summer with your friends, but If you pull up to the course with something else other than Lidl plastic bag as your disc bag you are doing it wrong. Also My discs always end up bouncing from a tree to Narnia or something, they just fucking disappear and then i get pissed of because i paid 25€ for it like the day before i went playing.

Sounds like a skill issue tbh

Big disagree, but to each their own. I started blading as an adult and it’s been insanely fun and has for sure made me a better skier.

I think one of the bigger mistakes of my childhood was letting dudes who grew up to be fat republicans with goatees holding fish in their pfp’s convince me that skateboarding was cool but somehow blading was “gay”

Truth. I've only thrown the tern a couple times, but it was a pretty sick understable disc. You should peep the MVP wave (11/5/2/2) - it's a pretty neutral flying disc so it's good for backhand and forehand. I've been playing more lately cause Skibowl shut down their weekday ops. Tournaments seem fun but I don't like the idea of playing with a bunch of randos who probably take it way more seriously. Props to you for competing tho!

It’s not a whole summer project for me, but I like to build back yard setup features in the summer, making a tolberone this year!

That’s sick! I was thinking about doing woodworking but making features seems so much cooler!

that would be sick in a backyard setup. If you have the space you could build a ton of super sick uncommon features and rails and make one of these during the winter. These kids in this video are living the dream though with a setup like this.
