On friday I went to the Puritan of Cape Cod ski and snowboard expo. I was surprised/sad/angry to see that it was just 5 tables set up in the corner of the store, and a total of two twintips on sale. When i first went in '99 the ski show included a rented out ball room, 25-30 booths set up by every ski and boot maker in the industry selling the latest and greatest gear, a trampoline show, and a snow making machine. Two years ago, it was a large wedding tent set up outside the store and maybe 10-15 booths. Have the skiers gone? Has the store gotten lazy? Or is our sport dying off?
