ok, so i live in mammoth... i specifically requested off work for the orage masters and i found out a week later that they CANCELLED it. I'M SO PISSED! now all i can do for those three days is get wasted, ski and watch some snowboarders tear it up... whoopdedoo.

thats a bummer. i would love to go to the orage masters but theyre not coming anywhere near Idaho.

they have decided to have it at a different mountain that is 10 times bigger and has a much better park than mammoth especially at this time of the year. theyre having it at mountain creek in dirty jerz baby

yeh bit i'm guessing mammoth has a much better atmosphere and who cares how good the park is if it's an anti comp?

well the masters was like a the only "team comp" and it was just suuppost to be something fun for the athletes so i think they moved it for the athletes interest

yeh so...i dont get it...its cancelled...but it is being moved??? so then technically it isnt cancelled...but it is at the same time. makes sense.

Wait, does someone have some actual official word on this? I love the Masters, I'll be so sad if its not going to happen...

It's not canceled, I was talking to Phil Casabon the other day and he said he's "sumper pumped" for it...

its true. jp auclair is staying at my house overnight until the comp which is going to be at 4 am in the morning on friday and hes sleeping with me on the same bed tonight along with the whole armada team

It’s hard to believe that winter 06-07 will mark the fifth anniversary of the event rightfully dubbed, “the anti-”comp.

In an industry riddled with standardized “open” events and made for TV contests we felt it was our job to change the way contests were viewed. Not only by the athletes competing but also by those in the crowd. It was our goal to create a ski event that would put the “fun” back into competition.

Despite those who said it couldn’t be done; no sooner than Orage launched the concept for the Masters in 2002, it had earned a spot on Freeskier Magazine’s “best events of the season” list.

Taking place every spring at Mammoth Mtn, Ca., teams consisting of 3 men and 1 lady have brought just about every mind-boggling trick in the book to our custom-built slopestyle course.

Adding to the “its all fun and games” attitude of the event, The Masters IV featured not only the best riding of the season, but teams dressed as characters from the wizard of oz, rednecks, pirates and Chuck Norris-esque ninjas.

And speaking of the Chuck Norris tribute team, a big congrats goes out to our reigning champs, Team Volkl!!!

So please don’t miss the 5th installment of the season’s most entertaining event…

The Orage Masters will be going down once again this May in sunny Mammoth, CA.

i love how 3/4ths of the people in this thread actually believed it was being moved to mountain creek

ok so it is for sure cancelled. i talked to the overall manager of the gondola who's got mad hookups here and he said they cancelled it due to not having enough money. it's not being moved somewhere else.... fuckin bummer. on the orage site it says the last hoorah for orage is in Quebec on april 7th. that was like 4 days ago kids. they're dunzo

i assume youve never heard of mtn creek. its got like 150 vertical feet, and has been closed for like 1 1/2 months

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Please, no... And my friend was supposed to ride the course...NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

it was the final Pros and Powder, nothing says it's the final overall stop for orage, from what I looked for. But damn they could at least announce something about this huge event being cancelled!
