What the hell is it? I've been seeing these obey stickers all around my town and I saw Family Guy do a bit on it.

I still dont get it though. Why are kids putting these everywhere? Is America's youth become more politcally aware? Or are they just taking part in a senseless faux pas just to be "cool", much like every middleschooler does with Led Zeppelin?

obey is a clothing company. they are big with the street art and tagging community. most of their advertising is done by tagging random places. looks like more people are asking question and its starting to take off. their threads are great.
 
yeah dude good example. I admit I took part in the middleschool Zeppelin thing, except I wasn't all like "stairway to heaven" blah blah blah I actually listened to all their shit. But then I discovered Pink Floyd and I like them soooooooooooooooo much more.

so why do people think it is cool to support communist dictators who ordered the execution and "re-education" of millions of inocent people?

Meh - its one of those goddam annoying things where as soon as 2 other people have heard a good new band, little kids start worshipping them and the music is no longer original or cool.

Except kids ripping off political movements is a gazillion times worse since the movements changed peoples lives and people suffered for them and stuff.

there was a sophomore at my high school last year that was a communist. who wore nothing but mao ze dong and stalin shirts. kid was a fucking dick, he actually believed the shit works, but i don't think he actually understands communism, and just wants to be cool/different. communism has always been just a temporary solution to a poverty stricken nation. it never lasts, and it always involves blood shed. communism blows.
 
I dislike people who only hate music because it is "mainstream" and "cool". Someone like dragonforce would still rock as hard even if they had 20 million dollers or 0.
