What skis should I get?

There are a million different types of skis that the dudes at the shops are reccomending to me. I live in northwestern Ontario so I don't need a powder ski. I'm just looking for a park ski that is also good on groomed runs for an intermediat skier.

If you arn't ever gonna be skiing pow I would say 1260 or Concept, but if you are gonna be every once and a while depending on how tall u are Mike nick/skogen, or the Scratch's...

yeah scratches are sick and so are the skogens

i agree with the 'scratches or skogens' reccomendation, they are both sick skis. i've ridden them both, they are more park than all-mountain, but still good on the groomers.

not the 1260's, I've seen a ton of cases....after like a year they start falling apart.

About my size, I'm 5 foot 7 and 150 pounds. Thanx. I heard alot about line skis fallin apart but that might not be right. If I get scratches, which ones?

hmm you don't ski any powder??? you just want them for the park???? you live in Ontario??? get the BCs!!!

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

Why would someone get BCs if they do NOT ski any pow?

Regarding Line skis - my Dragons have some delam problems, but nothing that affects the performance of the ski. I'm still sending them in to be looked at regarding a warranty replacement though

dude i think he was being sarcastic about the BC's. if they dont pick up on that then its his own fault, no one said the 1080's tho, which are just as good as the scratches or any ski line makes

What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

i recommend the concepts....good power spring for jumping but still good for powder. 720s are nice too

later,

Sonya

One of my local shops brought in like 7 pairs of scratch bc's. He recomended those for some reason. He was like 'That's the ski Tanner Hall uses to win the x-games' and I'm like 'I don't give a shit'. Maybe we was trying to sell them?

yeah I'm pretty sure he fucked up his shop order, and now needs to save his ass by selling em

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

get the scratch FS, the BC is for backcountry, thats why its named BC, and they would suck for what you want to do, so make sure to get the FS, and tanner used the FS'es in the X Games, not the BC'es

So the scratches are the best way to go?

are you seriously gonna buy scratch's based on 17 posts???

go out and demo a few pair

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

first of all you say you're intermediate, but i wouldn't recommend goin with a small ski unless you really hate bigger sizes. so, scratch fs (168, 174), 1260 (164, 177), Concept (blue or black, I can't remember the sizes), 1080 (171), even the public enemy (169). if you don't have a lot of flow go with the 1260's, PE's, or the concepts because they're a litte less in price compared to the other two. Ya, you're shop is definately fuckin with you, they probably brought in the BC cause they wanted one type of powder ski and now it's not selling. Go with one of the ones I suggested for sure.

peace,

public enemies, sickest ski ever! I was thinking about dropping K2 until the ski showed up at my door. Check them out if you can. cheap too

pretty much every twin tips on sale are good, except the 720 are lower quality.... is you buy scratch but don't ski powder not the BC, this year's 1080s are pretty good... but if its ONLY for the park defenitely lines.... 1240 i guess if youre 5 .7

CONCEPTS

get the scratches, they're a very sweet ski. if ontario is like new england then they'll work fine

yes scratch, 1260, skogen or darksides would be a good pick. Concepts, 1080s and Supaflys are also pretty cool

1)The person who asked the question does NOT ride pow - so stop suggesting fat twins!

2)The Darkside is not a twin this year, so it would be a bad choice

3)With as much park riding as it appears he plans on doing, stop suggesting skis with tiny tails - instead, suggestions should be skis with 30mm+ high tails.

dont get k2 enemys, mine delamed twice in one season. i just got line skogans and they're sweet as all hell, plus they make this sick ass rooster tail behind you with snow so anyone skiing behind you gets sprayed with it... (just about any lines do that) so yea, skogans because im 5' 8'' and weigh 165 so thats pretty close, but the 1260's are super light skis but ive heard of them breaking easily, so yea... i guess go demo something.

what balls?

Dude, even if you don't ski powder fat twins are the best bet. I ride the BCs and I live in wisconsin. They rule all the landings are sooo solid. They are a little hard to ride the pipe with but I always recommend fatties.

I dont think you can go wrong with the salomon 1080s, sweeeeeet fucking ski, they carve like butta and they spin great, solid landings (fat waist) with a good flex. I heard the scratchs are sweet but I havent ridden them so I cant comment on them, but I dont think you would be making a mistake buying those (FS). The concepts seem sweet too, my freind just bought those and likes em, otherwise they just look like a promising ski.

I read that they are hard to carve somewhere.

it really depends on how much $$$$ you got to play with as to which ski you can get.
