What Ski Is Closest To The Old Line Chronic

I had been skiing the 2016 Chronic for a few seasons until they were stolen last year. I wanted to just get new Chronics since I absolutely loved them, but the new redesign seemed too different for my tastes. I ended up getting ARV 96's because I felt like they are very similar to the old version of Chronics, but only got a few days on 'em due to a season ending injury.

Did I make the right choice? Is the Chronic redesign way different than the old version or is the difference not that noticeable? I miss my old skis lol

Never owned them but pretty sure they're different now. Think they got earlier taper and 95mm waist unlike the older models. Think it's also got a decent amount more camber in the newer models.

just spitballing here but why not just look for some older ones if you like them so much? you'd prob get a better price that way too

did u try the new chronics? i hear really good things about them. But the arv 96 should be fine. obviously i cant speak for either ski as ive never tried it but they both sem like great skis.

the closest ski to the pre 2019 chronic is the twall pro. It’s literally just a tweaked chronic with a bit more taper. Otherwise I can’t feel much of a difference. Flex and weight feels identical. Last season I skied 2016 171 chronics and this season I have 2018 185 chronics and my friends 178 2020 Twalls feel identical. In my opinion go with those if you liked the old chronic. Also love your vids keep it up :)

Definitely could, but I'm hoping to find something that drops a new graphic/minor tweaks/upgrades each season

cool just checkin. i just saw now that you said you did get arv96s, did you not like something about them? it's totally normal for it to take a day or so to get used to new skis

Nah haven't found anything I dislike about them yet, just haven't had a long enough time on them to build a strong opinion. Got two park days on them before my injury... I just really loved the old Chronics but am hoping I end up feeling the same about ARVs. Just figured I'd ask anyways
