What size Bluehouse MR for me?

alright im guessing this is one of the very many what size ski for me threads. but ive done my research and searchbarred and im stuck between getting 171 or 179 of the new MR's. ill be using these as my only ski for this season. probably doing about 50% park/50% all mountain/pow. im 5"8 around 130 pounds. if BSL matters they'e 317mm. thanks for anone that helps
 
i'm 5'10 and i found the 179's too long for park, i like pretty long skis also, i'd say a 171 mounted at the freeride line should do you good, i'm picking up a pair of 171's during the sale to use for park
 
Agreed. If you are going to be growing any more at all, especially go longer. If you go too short, you will regret it.
 
when is that sale ? and why are the 179s to long? IM 5'10 and thinking about getting 179s should i get the 171s
 
no at 5'10 you can handle the 179's, i just like shorter park skis so i found the 179's too long for park, but for someone who's 5'8 i'd say 171 even though i'm always an advocate of longer skis, for you either one, whatever you like, if you like long skis, get the 179's or if you like shorter get 171's
 
Do these skis actually measure at 179? I've heard a lot of people say the 179's are long. I just ask because I'm looking for a one ski quiver to ride 75% park and 25% all mountain. I'm 5'10 as well but I like the 175 range in park.
 
i haven't measured them exactly but they line up with line prophet 100's in a 179 and are pretty equal so they're a normal 179, my moment tahoes are substantially longer than my bacons, the tahoes are 180 and the bacons are 182 but the mr seemed to be about right, the 08 model has high tips that make the ski longer but they're taking those out this year and rounding them off, i'm getting a 171 for park but maybe a 179 would be fine
