What r the Tanners like?

TJ Schiller said they're the sickest ski he's ever rode. So they must be exxxtremely cooollllll... Right?

soft flex. the edge comes dull under foot. some one said that the ski similar to the fujatives. but im not sure, i have never skied on them.

 
yeah, i know i have never ridden them, but i was told that that dull edge underfoot is wierd. like, you can't even ski ski them. just take the straight to the park or else you will edge out. so, strictly a park ski, nothing else.

thats dumb that they detune um from the factory. I tune my edges exactly how I LIKE THEM. its a personal preference how sharp or dull they are. it totally changes the ski.

^ AR5 w/ different flex pattern and dull edge? That seems like a completely different ski if you ask me. People always beg for a ski built for jibbing only and now that they make it people bash that shit. SOMEBODY should like it.

today i went to the shop and had my choice between the two and i got the ar5's cause they are way more versitle.

 
my park skis lose their edges in weeks. I dont see what the big deal is. A dulled edge will rip out slower than a sharp one will on rails. :)

blahblah..cant ski ski...give me a break. I'm missing a foot of edge underfoot, and i can still ski anything around. theyd be dull or ripped out in 2 weeks anyway.

noo, i am pretty sure they are pre-grinded at the factory. if you look at the bottom of this first paragraph it says factory rounded... meaning they grinded them down. not angled them.

This is T-Hall's first signature model. Designed with a job-focused goal in mind, T wanted his ski to have the same sidecut and basic construction as the proven AR5, but wanted to change the flex pattern to help take his skiing to the next level. Tanner's own flex pattern is stiffer under boot for stability with softer flexing points in the tip and tail for nose and tail presses, butters, and whatever else he wants to do. He also wanted the factory to round his edges under boot so he won't catch and stay smooth on rails.

Terrain: Park, Urban

Features: Edges that are rounded under boot, T-Hall's jib flex pattern

Construction: AR Core torsion box construction, ABS Sidewalls, Carbon Fiber Stringer, 2000 Base, new nylon top sheet.

dull is completely diff tho... that means they are not sharp at all and i know for a fact that these are kind of sharp

i havent skied t-halls but i have fujatives and i flexed mine and flex the t-halls and the t-halls are close to the same flex just a cunt hair stiffer under the foot and tip, but a cunt hair softer on the tail

i definately recomend dulling your edges before skiing. not b/c you can catch on a rail and get hurt, but b/c if the edges are already rounded, there isn't much friction for them to break. if you think about it, most breaks occur early. its b/c when your skis hit a rail for the first time there is a ton of friction or whatever, and they will tend to grab the rail. this causes them to break, if you dull them immediately with a grinder er file, then they don't have the chance to grab the rail and break. get it?

what they most likely did was put a relatively high base bevel under the foot, say 5 degrees. in fact, i'm pretty damned sure that's what they did.

the design on the t-halls also look bland, you could prolly do that with a paint job and a couple of stencils

Ok whoa, hold on. I haven't skied the tanners yet, but I can tell you a few things about them. They're softer, and have more of a jib specific flex than the AR5. Vertical sidewalls underfoot, with factory rounded edges ONLY UNDER THE FOOT AREA. slanted sidewalls up to the toe of the binding, and again past the heel. It looks like it will be loads of fun for what it's designed for. Definitely a ski to demo, and lots of people out there should like them.

well friends, i attended world freeride camp where T and CR were coaches, well T didnt really coach and just did laps and helped you out if you asked him but CR coached. and T was skiing the 2005 prototypes. theyre all black on one and on the other its all black with a big armada symbol in the back.

-let people do what they want, ski how you want, make whoever you want your role model its your choice

heres the thing. if you try to take brand new skis out and do all your standard flatland tricks, its next to impossible to do them without catching an edge somewhere along the line. i dont know about you, but when i get skis, i work the edges and shit before i take um out the first time. since that is what this ski is designed for, its stupid to take away all that edge, cause it limits your tunning options. i think this ski is sick, but because thise style of really tech riding demands edges set up specific to the rider, it doesnt make sense to do that with a ski that will need to have the edges fully worked anyway.

^^ if it's set up specific to the rider, and it's tanner's pro model, wouldn't that make it specifically set up for him, which is the intent?

ATL thtas the current model and no prototype, TJ was skiing that exact ski, expect to see some kids riding those this year. i bought some AR5s, they loook fucking sexy as hell
