What Oakley lens for night skiing?

Hello!

What oakley lens would be best for mainly night skiing, but also cloudy weather?

I want it to be a good lens, but i also want it to look good!

I don't want people to se my eyes behind the googles, and i would also like a mirror lens, but i can live without the last.

Any thoughts?

Personally, I like h.i. yellow better than clear because it actually brightens everything up and adds more contrast than a clear lense.

waitwait... I don't want a clear lens or a regular yellow one, I would like it to be a bit mirrored if possible, it doesn't have to be the absolute best for nights skiing, it should just be able to hold up really well on nights and look good, I can compromise a little bit ;)

persimmon. it's my only lens and I ski cloudy days all day err day in NJ and under the lights and night and I'm always fine.

In that case, grey polarized.

But in all seriousness, there really isn't a decent mirrored lense out there for night-skiing. If you want one, look at the Iridium lenses, they suck for the dark in most cases but they're mirrored.

Well I'm not gonna ski in complete darkness, it's only for the night driving in the skicenter.. will be plenty of light's, so I think I'm gonna go with the pink one..

Any other suggestions?

Goggle performance in different light conditions typically comes down to the Visual Light Transmission rating, or VLT. This is how much light the lens allows to pass through to your eye. The higher the percentage, the better the lens performs in flat and low light conditions.

A mirrored lens is going to do poorly in low-light or at night while a Hi-Yellow lens is going to do very well as it will allow light thru to your eye and also boost contrast.

You best bet is going to Oakley's site, and using their lens tint simulator. It will show a representation of how the goggle will perform in a given set of conditions.

Agreed on looking at oakley's site.
But from experience my old pink iridiums did pretty well at night, and were mirrored. A clear or HI yellow would be better, but pink is as good as you will get with some mirror.

I would still go with HI yellow, they are a bit mirrored and in my opinion look really good.
