What new vehicle should I purchase?

My SUV's had problem after problem after it passed 100k miles. I just got off the phone with a mechanic and the transmissions gone. Fuck it. I'm looking for a new car.

What can I get that's under 15k that gets relatively good mileage, reliable, and I won't look like a goob? Ideas?

The Newschoolers Association of Subaru Addicts is ready to see you.

I heard subarus are like super cool and fast and great I'd buy one if i were you

Audi A6 Allroad?

It's not just an A6 with extra bodywork, it really does work off road (it has adjustable suspension and diff locks), unlike must suv's however it remains a slick station, It's pretty fast as well, handling is nice.

And it drives in snow with ease.

toyota tacoma would be perfect. others are toyota 4runner, nissan pathfinder, subaru impreza for something sporty. the toyotas will run up to 400k and extremely reliable.

Well personally I'd say go for a WRX STI as shown below:

They handle really when in snow and go hard as fuck.

I was being sarcastic what does that have to do with me "being 12." Even though I'm 13 you inconsiderate fuck.

Holy brain damage Batman, I used to enjoy your posts to, sorry t had to be this way.

OP Good luck sorry for that^^^^^

He does have a point. Generally you have to be able to drive to get a feel for a car and how well it handles. But the Audi suggestion is a pretty good one

you started the hospitality, i was just warning the OP that advice from a 13 year old might want to be taken lightly, sorry i didn't detect the sarcasm in your post. let's chill out now, deep breath

less then 15k you could go for a honda civic or something along those lines. Hatch back ford fiestas are getting 40 mpg highway

Me personally in that price range would probably lean toward something like a 2007 ish jeep grand cherokee. Maybe an audi a4 wagon, i think the car is way to small. Maybe even a caddilac srx pretty decent size and looks pretty different

good luck finding one in good condtion but if i were you i'd get an audi 200 avant. if you know anything about these engines, inline 5's are solid as fuck

sickkkkk

whats the deal with everyone constantly riding 10+ year old audi's/bmws dicks, if your car had problems at 100,000k please dont get an audi/vw, if so have fun spending twice that to fix it. People just becasue a car has a designer badge on it doesnt make it the tits.

Acura RSX for sporty reliability, 05-09 Legacy for least unattractive Subaru, Lexus SC 400's are positively sexual

because depending on the model, 10-20 year old audi's and bmw's can be reliable as fuck, some models can be an unreliable piece of shit. if you know what you're looking at and do some research, older audi's and bmws can be some of the smartest buys for a car. my 23 year old bmw has almost 240,000 miles, i drive the shit out of it, constantly rev it to and above redline, i offroad it and jump it, done 2 track days on all stock suspension/brakes, and over almost 4 years now ive spent like 1500 on maintenance, most of it is a result of me beating the shit out of it.

ive got a good amount of experience with audis too, my grandpa had an old audi 90 that he put like 300,000 miles on, still running strong when he sold it. and it was basically problem free. ive also had a little experience with a b5 s4 and that thing was a complete piece of shit when it came to reliability. so are most the other b5 s4's ive seen. they drive great and look awesome, just suck for reliability.

you really just gotta make sure you know what your getting, same goes for subaru's too, plus an audi will destroy just about any subaru in snow. get a 325ix and it will also destroy pretty much any subaru.

how about a mazda 3? a couple years old would be in your price range for sure. they are super reliable and last for a long long time.

I just got a toyota matrix which I really like as well. again, a hatchback is great for skiing. the matrix comes in awd too. great on gas, reliable, safe, and reasonably priced. pretty fun to drive too :)

why is it always the assumption that someone with a big truck or a sports car has a small penis? I really don't get that. Giving some people do buy those cars to make up for a small penis MOST don't.

Trying not to shove Subaru's penis down any ones throat here, but, I'll recommend an incredibly practical car. It's even within the OP's said budget.

I have an 07 Subaru Impreza Sport. I'm not a big car guy, so I don't want it to show off or to have a status symbol or anything (Note: I am not making any accusations to anyone).

I bought this car for $15K, it has low mileage (bought it at 103000 kms). I am able to fit everything I need in it, along with friends. I've even slept in it, and had plenty of space (the backs of the rear seats make good pillows).

This has been my practical dream car for so long. It's the perfect car for me, and all my friends have made the same comments.

Holds skis, luggage, people, dogs, food, etc...

It can drive through snow, drive on ground, go fast, go slow, stop and can be turned into a bed.

It has pretty good mileage, being an AWD, it does burn more fuel, but I haven't noticed a massive gouge in my wallet compared to driving my old Cavalier

And it looks good too.

with a truck like that, its pretty much guaranteed that the driver is making up for something. im a car person, i know lots of car people, and i honestly think that every single person i know with a lifted truck, and there are quite a bit, is a huge tool trying to compensate for something. the type of people where its not even a question, they make it extremely obvious that they think they need to show everyone how tough and badass they are. that being said i like trucks, i can understand the purpose of a truck, if i could have a second car it would be a truck, but the big chromed out lifted diesels usually covered in tapout and dc stickers i absolutely hate.

dont get a vw/ audi product if you want long term investment. Just saying. And just FYI diesel isnt better for the enviroment at all, it produces nox as a product of its combustion and unless there is a exhaust fluid or particle filter as in the new clean diesel law that passed a few years ago, they are awful for emissions.
