What mbps do you guys export your videos at?

12-15mbps. really anything past that is worthless because vimeo/youtube/any other video player is going to compress your video to like 2-3mbps to make it streamable.

yeah i tried uploading a video to youtube at 25 and again at around 10, both ended up looking the exact same with equal banding. Is there a way to upload videos with a gradient to youtube (vimeo barely had any banding and newschoolers was pretty much perfect) via h.264 1080p without banding?

this video definetely has a heavy gradient and even the gopro shots dont have any banding

you think if you uploaded this vid @ 25 it would look worse? I feel like in terms of compressions this is the best looking video from the gh3 that ive seen

like this vid it was exported at 25 & at like 2:45 the aspens look like weird and the following shot of the rodeo the shirt looks like clayish and weird. idk maybe thats inevitable

It depends on how you shoot as well, at least I would assume we're using different settings to a point.

Most of that edit of mine you posted is with the rokinon 8mm and tokina 11-16 just for reference.

and no, it would look the same. More mbps =/= worse after uploading, its just a waste of time and space on your end.

Sorry for the triple post, but movement with your camera will cause issues like this. I had some problems like that with my fs100 too. Sometimes if you're moving too fast, the camera has a hard time catching up with all the detail, etc and it can cause banding or blocking etc. Get what im saying?
