What kind of TV do I need

I just bought an LG 50", 3D, Smart, Plasma TV for $750. It blows, horrible lag time for COD and its too dark, I know, the salesman sold me a TV i didn't want.

This is where I need your help tech geeks of NS. I want a TV, preferably LED. I am not a huge TV fanatic as my existing TV is a 32" Sony Grand Wega (CRT I think their called). Half of the time will be sitcoms and action sports movies and the other half will be playing COD. 50" was bigger than I wanted, I would prefer 47" but 42" would be okay if that is the only way to correct lagging during game play. I do not give a fuck about 3D, I know little about Smart TV's not sure if I would ever use it however I am not tech savy and may be considering netflix or cinema now in the future.

I would like your input, especially when it comes to first hand experience with certain models.

plasma has the highest refresh rate. panasonic makes the best plasmas. if you're going to be gaming, I'd go that route.

no idea, I don't think so. but I know it's smooth and crisp playing duty. I don't know why it would be lagging, seems like it would have to do with the cables and input into the tv.

What you want is a TV with a refresh rate of 60hz. LED is almost completely unnecessary, you could just get a 47" 1080p LCD TV and you will be satisfied with the brightness and clarity. At $750, you can get a nice HDTV or a sub par LEDTV.

I got a 42in Vizio at Costco for like $400. No 3d or Smart or any of that other bullshit. It's been great for what I need.

I bought a 45" panasonic led TV for like 600 earlier this year.

This post probably wont help you because we bought it for vary specific reasons.

1. It had buttons

2. It was a beefy mother fucker and would actually hold up in our house

Its dope though

I recommended an Insignia 42" LCD tv to guy on here before. From my experience with that tv I would recommend it again.

How would a tv cause lag? Isn't that just your Internet connection? Anyway as far as brands go Samsung TVs usually get good reviews

I got a 3 year old 50" plasma from LG. It is pretty sweet for sports, video games, TV. No lag, nothing..

...maybe you are dong something wrong or you got sold a lemon. Might want to check on that.

You do realize that you can adjust the settings right? Check out the different preset modes or go custom.

I just upgraded my 13 inch orion with built in vhs. Got a 42 inch vizio. Works fine. Payed 300 bucks for it from a friend that never used it.

HOLY SHIT HOP ON THIS. My friend has this TV and I envy the colours it produces. Really deep blacks and very crisp.
