What is with the shit articles on the homepage?

The articles don't end up on the home page unless they're upvoted a bunch so...

I think the articles are dope. And the fact that they show up near the top of the page often is also dope. I go to the homepage, see the most relevant stuff going on plus vids, photos, etc. It's just what I want.
 
We basically tweaked the algorithm a pinch, plus we've been seeing way more people adding good news to the site. These things together have led to way more news floating up.

Which articles do you think suck?

 
what I'm curious to know is why I occasionally see gear review articles on the front page with negative ratings
 
I think some people just don't like seeing gear come up... we've been playing around with how reviews are displayed and been seeing mixed success with it.

Since this feature is still in public beta, there may be people who simply don't like the positioning of it.
