What is this trick called

Landed my first cork 7 today but after watching it in slow mo quite confused as now I think it might be bio/misty 7 as I toss it forwards. Tips/corrections much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that's a bio 7, and it looked steezy too, nice dude.

For the cork axis I suggest when you're setting the rotation to look back at the tails of your skis. This will position your body to set the 7 back more which should fix the axis.

From the video it looks to me like you're setting the rotation back but at the lip your shoulder go's forward, throwing you into a bio axis. Keep your shoulder up and that should help aswell.

Post a follow up video once you get it!

Nice bio. I had an issue like this for a while and I found it was cause I was dropping my shoulder early. Lead with your hips more and feel your chest to sky. Don't let yourself break at the waist on takeoff.

It's not a true bio nor a cork, kind of what I would describe as a "mork." Think about pushing your hips forward on takeoff, like your right hip should go up towards the sky, not down. A good T-set will help you figure out the takeoff and once you have the muscle memory, you can stop T-setting like an aerialist, but it'll help to start.

whatever you want to call it, it was rad! i would accept either title and not argue with you. nice job! now try it to the right =)

yeah it’s a morked cork. not a bio. if it feels good just keep sending it, tbh mork takeoffs are pretty lit despite what traditional/proper technique people would argue.

I kind of disagree, depending on how much you want to progress. Sticking with this set will result in some weird muscle memory and you'll just keep morking. The downside to that is it's super hard to turn that trick into anything else, while a good cork 7 is a building block for so many other tricks.

I'm not sure if teenage Jeff would be disappointed with 35-year-old-coach Jeff, but that's my opinion these days.

foundationally, you’re totally right and that’s way better advice. and the more i watch it the more it looks just bio not even mork.

where i’m coming from is just that having a proper/standardized way to do a trick can be stylistically limiting. some of the best style and tricks come out of people who sort of learned the wrong way and just kept going at it. it’s personality through movement.

So true, and the best skiers in my opinion are the one's who take that standardized way to do a trick and blend it with their own personal style.

thanks for the help guys gonna work on this and post a follow up. gonna try and get this more style make it my own and maybe turn it into a 9.

This is so facts.

I had the same problem with corks at first and in my humble opinion id say don’t focus too much on anything else at first except that your trailing arm is being thrown downwards in the vid which is bringing everything else down but if you set it the exact same but bring your trailing arm up (kind of over your chest type shit) instead it will probably fix all the other problems like for ex. when that dude said push your hips forward and all that other good stuff. All those other tips are very true but If you focus on all the things said in this thread at once it might be a little overload to remember but if you do that arm thing it will probs correct everything naturally. Worked for me anyways. Just don’t set it too far backwards. Set the trick the EXACT same but keep that trailing arm up. Send a vid when u stomp it !!

And don’t exaggerate my tip too much if your going to try it out you don’t want to do a flippy ass d spin. Your axis was so perfect you just gotta keep that chest up. Id say throw your trailing arm just maybe a little higher than your chest and it will naturally do it. Set the trick the same. Also stand on flat ground and practice the set, youll see how it fixes itself when you do that. It very clean btw nice job
