What is the most narrow touring/freeride boot?

Cause my feet are hella narrow but i still wanna tour and stuff

Lange XT Free Pro (and next years XT3 Pro), Dalbello Lupo Pro HD/130 C/Factory, Technica Zero G Pro/Scout. Most touring boots run a little wider because feet swell when touring. My foot is 97mm wide but I wear a 101 mm boot (Scarpa Maestrale RS) and don’t have any issues. Try some stuff on brotha

+1 for Lange XT 130 Free. I got one day in a new pair before ski season abruptly got cancelled, and after just 5 runs they felt pretty near perfect. The LV is 97mm but for how narrow they are, the toe box still feels plenty roomy. Ultimately, go see a bootfitter when that becomes a viable option and get measured properly.

Also the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 130, 98mm wide

[tag=271888]@backyardcracker[/tag] didnt see your reply but yes to reiterate that’s a real good boot

Go and try different models. They all differ in total volume and shape.

I have tried most of them and I have a rather narrow foot with low instep. For example the Lange XT free LV is narrower in numbers then the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTd but the overal fit of the Atomic is way more snug then the Lange boot and all other touring/freeride boots I have tried

Straight facts

Hawx Ultra XTD is the lowest-volume legit AT boot I've tried. As others have noted, the XT Free LV is not a super low-volume boot for a stated 97 mm last, but it's also worth trying on. The Zero G and Cochise are also on the higher-volume side for a 99 mm last. Lupos are supposedly 98 mm but they feel way higher volume than that, especially compared to the XTD and even the Zero G.

And yeah, it's important to keep in mind that your feet will swell while walking for a few hours.

Luke is the shell heat-mold process for the Hawx XTD similar time the heat mold process of an Intuition liner?

I actually haven't done the heat molding for the XTD's yet. I was debating molding the Ultra XTD but if I molded it to my f'd up feet it probably wouldn't feel anything like the original last, and we want to keep that around for future fit comparisons. I was going to mold the Hawx Prime XTD 130 cause that boot seems like it will eventually work really well for me, but of course, all of the shops closed down last week and now I don't have anywhere to go that has a boot oven. So I'm still trying to figure out how to do that without messing up the boots or the new Mimic liners.

But from what I remember hearing, it's like 15 min. [tag=134699]@onenerdykid[/tag] what say you?

I want to get a pair and considered cooking them in my oven if it’s the same process, Im familiar with how to do the Intuition liners but wouldn’t want to screw up a brand new pair of boots

The atomic liner differs quite much vs a intuition and the initial fit will not differ super much vs a cooked one. If you buy a 19/20 model I would say that one-two days using the boot will give you the same result as cooking them.

If you go for a ,20/21 model, Atomic have a new liner construction called mimic that that will benefit from cooking. Search for Atomic mimic in the forum and you can read more.

The Mimic liner fitting process has a 5 minute heating time, 2 minute wearing/standing in it time, 5 minute cooling time. I sent you and Jonathan (perhaps only Jonathan?) a video on the process. Email me if you need it and I will send again. It's definitely a do-it-with-a-shop type of procedure, which sucks at this time since everything is closed. But you will need the right oven, and the additional tools that I sent with the boots.

Don't do it at home, you'll ruin your boots and/or liners. There are way too many people trying to Memory Fit their boots at home in their oven and they always fuck it up. It's a relatively simple process (as far as boot-fitting goes) but you need the right tools and the proper training to ensure the fit goes right, the buckle mounting holes aren't damaged, the boot sole isn't twisted/warped, etc.

Re: the 19/20 liner - we use the same EVA foam that Intuition uses. The exact same. Our liner construction is far different though, that's true. We use a pre-shaped ankle/heel area, have a flat strobel lasted sole (rather than layers of soft squishy foam), a breathable forefoot, and a unique tongue construction that's more like an alpine boot. I would say that an Intuition liner will change more after heating it only because its first fit (the out of the box fit) isn't as pre-shaped or tailored as ours is. The difference between before heating and after heating is greater with Intuition than with ours because our liner already has more that done for you from the start. Additionally, when you heat our liner in the Memory Fit oven for 3 minutes, you will get a lot of reshaping going on that will not be possible by simply wearing the boot. You will fully remold the heal/ankle area, the tongue, and the calf to better fit you.

Mimic will take this to the next level and the only aspect where an Intuition liner will win is in weight. An Intuition liner will still be lighter than a Mimic liner.
