What is the most known mountain in north america?

well, any place where they have had the olympics. ie squaw, salt lake, lake placid, and now whistler. im sure there are a few others tho.

whistler no doubt. any random shmuck will have definately heard of whistler, and probably know it's in BC

its funny in the summer if you walk around with skis people are like waht the fuck? what are you doing. thers no skiing right now.

as a guy who doesnt come from america, i can tell you that the whole world sees whistler as a commercial ski mecca in a way, its hyped up huge , its definately the most well known mountain in north america, if not the world

Colorado is the best known mountain.

'Hey dude, we're going skiing in Colorado! HOW RAD IS THAT!?!?'

'Pretty rad. Which mountain?'

'Uhhhhh.... Colorado?'

I don't think anyone outside of wintersports knows about Mammoth. Most people I've talked to don't know there is snow in California.

Whistler/Blackcomb

Aspen/Vail

Salt Lake city Park city

Lake Louise

Banff (very popular tourist area)

Mammoth, Great skiing but not so well known by everyone Squaw, Stowe, Mte Ste Anne,

Trembalnt, Jay, Heavenly ect, ect, ect pretty well equal

talking about mainstream people(including people who dont ski), most dont know whistler exists, but they know vail and aspen, garunteed. Maybe places like jackson hole, park city, squaw cause of the olympics.

i would agree if you are talking about just people in the us. outside of north america i would bet the most known would be whistler

i told people i was going to whistler expecting them to know and they were like, what the hell is whistler,

where is that?
