What is that thing inside of Saga pockets?

for those of you that have saga outerwear, what is the rubbery loop thing this is inside the pockets?
it has been bugging me so much

i think companies just like sticking random things on and in there outerwwear. for example the g suit comes with a little salomon action figure in it. kinda weird but kinda cool eh

i'm 99% sure it's just a pass holder. i've seen it on a lot of other brands of ski pants like patagonia and NF.

i have put lighter tobacco pipe walllet on there you can flip the grip side down (turn the strap 180) onto your stuff and it doesnt budge.
