What is more physically demanding

Depends, if you asked if it was skiing in general I might say yes, as you have the choice to make it demanding such as hiking 14,000 ft to ski down it. But alas, park skiers tend not to hike up 14ers

depends what you're doing with each part of the sport, skiing if you're skinning or riding big mtn comps then maybe it's more demanding but in mx if you're pushing the limits constantly it may be more demanding. same goes for the flip side, if you're gently lapping the park with friends and not trying too hard it won't be demanding nor if you're riding mx on your dad's fancy ranch in montana (know lots of kids who do that)

motocross like racing? its tough, you need to keep control of your bike, but not like skiing COULD be

skiing COULD be (like others said) hiking or skinning up a huge, steep face, in the high altitude mind you, and the skiing down. while skiing down, you use your abs to your toes to control those skis. And unlike motocross, when you hit a cliff or a jump, you don't have shocks, you have knees.

if you've ever tried downhill racing, it also takes a lot out of you. not only do you have to control skis while going 80mph, but you stay in a tuck and your thighs burn to the point of tears

hahahahahahahaha
Mountain biking is, on average (cutting out the "could be"'s and 'would be"'s) way more physically demanding. They have to throw those bikes around - racing - and I know that there is just something in the movement that makes the racing look physically taxing. I also know that when a freestyle skier finishes a run they just chill... I mean like... you're gliding down a hill, not that hard. MX bikers are always sweating and panting and acting all tiireedd and shit

Word. Even downhill is a workout. I get to the bottom of a run and am so fucking tired. All your senses are at work during mountain biking and you have to be able to pick lines super fast.

yeah i do both freeride/downhill mtb and i've always found it a lot harder than any day of skiing, but then again, most of the skiing i do is very chill, and i don't often go ripping through trees having to pick my turns two steps ahead of my next one. i mean, i've had some pretty tiring runs, and there have been times where i'm sore afterward, but i don't think i've ever had a skiing day that was more taxing than a mtb day.

i think that for hardcore proooos and people who really push themselves to their limits at the skihill, it might even out, but for your average skier vs. your average mtb/mxer, the bikers have a much tougher time of it.

^^ haha guys we weren't talking about mountain biking, the conversation was about skiing and motor cross. i will agree mountain biking is physically demanding though, especially when you do it at 100 degrees like i did yesterday...

Oh hell yeah motocross is way more demanding than freesking

I've raced some enduros and hare scrambles and its hard stuff.

either sport is as hard as you make it. so there is no decisive answer to your question.

though I will lean more towards MX.

if you spelt "he's" correctly then you would have owned me, but now we're even. Im sorry, "you're" an idiot is what i mean to say

And yeah, stop talking about mountain biking. we'kre talking about motocross. Gas motors with accelerators and breaks and pedals and shit. mountain biking is a lot harder then motocross.

Skiing a day of bumps or deep pow is so much more demanding than riding MX could ever be. I don't think I'm ever more tuckered out than after skiing all day like that and I'm a runner.
