What is going on with Granite's jumps?

They still only have one jump, but its different everyday.

I have family on patrol here, and they have been telling me about an absurd amount of injuries on the sky high jump. Everyday several people destroy themselves on it. I knuckled it hard my first two runs yesterday. Snowboarders almost always came up short.

It has been closed several times over the last week and it still is today. Do they have new guys managing the jumps? It was perfect for awhile, sure, but people are just dropping like flies on that thing. Just wondering if anybody knows what's up.

I know the drop in is super long and steep then you get a long flat zone before them. I'm guessing that the speed is just super hard to judge on them. It was for me when I went there last year. Factors like wind, wax, slush/ice/snow, pop make those jumps hard.

When I went at the beginning of the year it was really nice but I guess I could see how speed would be an issue there.

How did they screw it up so bad? The only way you could've gotten hurt on it when I went was if you overshot it by an unrealistic amount.

That's exactly what's happening. People who don't know how to ride park come into the park and bomb the entire hill into a jump either because they think that's how you do it or they just don't see the jump. It's not granite's fault in any way.

Troy has been having a hard time getting everything worked out. Recently this weekend there was a death caused by over shooting that jump so they are in the works on fixing it. The parks aren't doing to hot this year

They really need to fence off the runs with jumps and put entrances just above where you drop to get speed for them. I doubt anything is wrong with the jumps, steeper landings are far safer even though they can be easy to overshoot.

I said this in another thread How is Granite Peak but I was there last weekend and heard a kid on a snowboard landed on his head and was seizuring/vomiting blood. Hopefully no one actually died.

I heard the kid went into a coma for a while and died after that granite closed sky high for a week and a half or so now it is hard to overshoot but you have to pop hard just to clear the jump granite has the buildup for the east side jump line ready they just need to make the take off ramps that jump line + trees = bomb ass skiing
