what are the pros and cons of at bindings vs traditional bindings. why dosent everyone use at bindings even not in backcountry. after all its easier to get around that with traditional bindings. At lopoks fun im just having a little trouble understanding what exactly they are used for. ik i look like a huge noob but any info would be great. kinda interested because im a usual park rat. but after demoing some volkl rtms last night and ripping all the groomed runs. its gotten me interested in all types of skiing

AT = alpine touring. They are bindings that allow you to release your heal, allowing you to essentially turn your downhill skis into 'cross country' style skis. Combined with skins (carpet like things that go on the base of your ski - making your skis grip on snow instead of slide) you have the ability to walk uphill with your skis.

They aren't as good in bounds, but some are better than others. If you aren't gonna be out in the backcountry climbing up slopes, they aren't very useful.
