What is an "ink transfer" shirt ?

looking at shirts online and the one i want says the design is an ink transfer. Does that mean the shitty iron-on kinda prints, or just normal print ?

i actually did google the question, but there is no clear answer in the links, which explains why i made this thread,

its a t-shirt with a graphic on it from a heat press. you print out a graphic or design on a special transfer paper and put in on a heat press and presto! as opposed to a shirt that is silk screened with ink/dye.

thats a heat transfer, an ink transfer may be DTG, which is literally printed on, or it might be ink sublimation
