hey everyone,

i was just wondering what ipods you have or ski with. i am getting a new ipod and i was wondering is th best for skiing. i was kinda leaning towards the shuffle because they have no screen and are supposively really good in cold whether.

any input would be great.

thanks

u dont need a pod. i have skullcandy icons with a skullcandy mp3 player (they came in a pack) for 37 bucks.

i also have a 20 dollar mp3 player from target or something.

they both fit in the palm of ur hand, they're actually better for skiing cuz they're mad cheap and it doesnt really matter if u break it. and, they say the song on a little screen.

here are pics

I have skied with and dropped my ipod video on pavement and it is still in perfect condition. They are a little high priced but worth the money.

To use when you're doing sports or w/e : take a small cheap mp3 player

For everyday use: I own a 30Gig iPo video (full of music), I had it for a year and I think it's not worth it ... too much $$, the battery doesn't last long enough, the screen freezes... I suggest you get an Arkos player ( I'm pretty sure that's the name) I hears it has a lot more of options for the same price.

i have a shuffle for skiing/running/working out etc. and then a 30 gig. video for everything else. i like the small size of the shuffle for active stuff because it doesn't bounce around a lot but you cant put a whole lot on it

i roll with a touch now...but for skiing def go with the newest shuffles, they are dirt cheap and super small for skiing which works out great

I'm gonna get a shuffle for skiing, but I used my 80GB iPod video this season as I didnt have anything else

i use the black 8 gig ipod nano. i have it in a rubber case with plastic over the screen so it's pretty durable that way. i'd recommend that if you're an ipod fan. Purchase the "z case" from apple.com when you get the nano. it's a great case.

Dude, it's all about the Shuffle. Seriously, go buy one right now. I never thought I'd like an MP3 player without a screen, but it's perfect. I'll assemble a list of pros and cons for you.

Pros -

1. Simply too small and light to break. Nothing can get enough leverage or impact on it. If you keep this in your coat pocket, nothing you do will fuck it up.

2. It has a clip. Perfect for working out, if you don't have pockets, much more handy than you'd think.

3. Super easy to control without looking at it.

4. Not a Hard Drive player. That's what ALWAYS breaks in MP3 players. It's flash memory, so basically you're set.

5. So small and light, you won't even know you have it on you. Isn't bulky or uncomfortable whatsoever.

6. Doesn't have a screen. Yes, this is a pro. First of all, if the HD doesn't break, it's gonna be the screen. So you're set there. Also, I find that if you can select your music you always end up listening to the same few artists. With the Shuffle, you have 200 of your favorite skiing songs on you at all times that will play randomly and keep you entertained.

7. Perfect.

Cons -

1. None.

Go buy one.

my ipod nano fell out of my pocket onto carpet and smashed... Somone want to get me an ipod...

1rst and 3rd generation iPod Nano.

Honestly, if you want to be a trend whore, go with the an iPod, otherwise there are some good quality mp3s out there with better $/memory value that will perform equally or even better.

not to be negative whatsoever because i totally agree with you, but a con would be the headphones...shit for working out, but thats easily fixed

Shit, didn't know they had 2GB ones, mines 1GB, but yeah - cheap as fuck. No HD and no screen helps quite a bit.

the very first generation ipod
it's such a beast, takes like 15 seconds to spin up when you turn it on and has like an hour of battery lol.

I knew I was missing something.. yeah, can't beat paying $50 over $300 for such a superior product.

I have a shuffle and a third gen 20 gig. they should bring back the buttons how mine has them, but with the better screen and hd. that would be amazing

the mad old one. i like to keep it classic. that and i have no money to buy a new one and ditch old faithful.

my boyfriend skis with the shuffle with a clip and clips it onto his goggles. it looks gnar, and i'll take credit for that creation.
