Drop in is sections of 'dendex' dry slope material, which we 'borrowed' from the local dry slope. Its pretty slidey, especially when you put some water on it. Im gonna make the drop in bigger though because you don't get as much speed as i want. The drop in tower is just a load of pallets nailed together, works well, fairly sturdy.

Rail is made of 1.5in diameter piping which i fund in a nearby field, ha...seems to be strong enough

ahh beaut. only ask as went to gloucester ski slope the other day and their dishing out snowflex.
set up looking ridic!. really nice drop in. i got my rail sorted but drop in still on the drawing board!

We should so do a UK rail jam. Everybody brings their backyard setups with them, and we all have a session on them?

yea speed deffinetly looks rough. shouldve asked around more for a better height suggestion, that will be a bitch to adjust.

Ah Dendex. I have been trying to figure out for the longest tiime what the name of that stuff was. ++ Kar for you. That is the stuff that they originally used on artificial slopes in the UK right?

Yeah, thats what they used to use.
It was a problem because you could catch your thumb or a finger in there and ruin it. But for a drop in I'd say its perfect.
I envy you man.

My dry slope costs £20 for 2 hours and all it has is a quater pipe and SOMETIMES (i mean really rare) a flat rail. Thats why... but im guna head up to gloucster when i can drive in a month or 2 and hit there "jumps".

Good work with your set up, were did you get the matting from? HIllend? and where is it cos the castleford crew are building a set up, we have tried to find some dendex but the slopes are being kind of gay about it and want a ton of money for used crappy dendex. Is there an easy to get to pile at Hillend because I might make a trip up, just for a look of course

Sweetass! I like how you used pallets to make the drop-in. I was thinking about doing that too, the newspaper company in my town gives away pallets for free.

Yeah, I heard you could rip your arm out of the socket pretty easily on that stuff. Still I have been looking all over for some Dendex that we could use for a summer setup in Co. I really think that the low cost solution which will probably work just as good if not better is just to get ahold of some old carpet remnants, nail them down to your ramp and then just soak it down with water and bio dish soap or bio degreaser.

I have huge respect for the NSers from the UK. It's not like anything is cheap or easy to do over there. A buddy of mine that I used to compete with grew up skiing on Dendex. I don't remember what area, but Kar bump to you.

there was a big pile of it last time i checked, but that was like last november, it looked like it had been there for a while though so i wouldnt be suprised if its still there, if you get me. They'r always replacing sections of Hillend so theres bound to be some kicking about...If youd did happen to take a trip up, i reckon it'd be worthwhile ;)...pretty easy to get, just went at night

next time im up there ill have a scope for ya...think im gonna be down at castleford next friday so might see you then...
