What HD video camrea should I get to a price bellow 1000$? NO GoPro!

my friend has a hv40 and its capable of awesome quality but he has been having a lot of trouble uploading to his computer and getting the quality he should, if you can figure that out its an awesome camera though.

same. excellent camera once you figure out all the AVCHD stuff. great quality. pretty cheap. doooo it.

think about getting a rebel t2i, under $100 bucks and has better vid quality then all those hd camcorders, and takes real nice pics as well.

The quality part is not really true, but the T2i is still a very nice camera. The HV40 and most Canon video cameras do take photographs as well so it comes down to do you want a still camera that takes video, or a video camera that takes pictures. I have both and use both and I am happy with both, however it sounds like you are someone just getting interested in film and video and the DSLRS (T2i) does not have auto focus, or at least the one I have does not.

If you parents have air miles point, you could buy the Canon HF20 for like 7 500 points, which is what I did, and it's the perfect camera, except if you shoot a lot under low-light condition, this camera is not the best shooting in this situation. Other than that, this camera is perfect, super small, pretty light. I love it.
