What has brett favre EVER done?

why is he so highly praised by those in green bay, what makes him so magnificent that you switch your fan base due to his trade. I mean, the guy won ONE super bowl, one, in the 90s, and everyone thinks they won it last year. Fuck, the patriots won 3 of them in 4 years, and plenty of teams have won since them. He has never been a fantastic QB, so he had a healthy streak for a while and has played for numerous years, long enough to throw more tds than anyone. That is all in time, any qb that plays for 12 or so years without an injury will see that they too have broken the record for most tds thrown in a career. In the end, i see brett favre as nothing more than a mediocre qb who will go 16/30 throwing for 112 yards, 0 tds and 2 int in any given game
/endrant....FUCK FAVRE

thank you, i remember back in janurary everyone on here thought favre was better than brady, but i owned the shit out of them

people switched to jets fans because brett is one of the greatest qb's of all time. sure he only won one super bowl but shoot he has accomplished a lot. not to mention that laser rocket arm.

this man speaks the truth. favre in his prime was pretty good, gun sliger with lots of TD's and a lot of ints, and he won a superbowl and got some MVP's. Pretty good pro career, good enough for HOF.

But people overhype his "iron man" streak way too much, its 100% luck. Every NFL player is vulnerable, and over a long career you're chances if getting injured are huge. It has nothing to do with his fitness of toughness, he was simply lucky. Everyone just sucks ESPN's dick and then regurgitates what they hear trying to act like they know about football.

In a close game, with 2 mins left and no timeouts, who do you want? People who know what they're talking about will say brady, peyton, montana, and the other greats who make their money by being clutch. Favre is all about stats. Stats don't win SB's, good leadership and game management do.

just look at his season last year. I mean the guy is in his late thirties and still playing like that..? come on give him some credit. and then to learn a completely knew offense and still perform as well the next year.. and imagine if the quarterback of the team from your hometown was with the team (successfully) for more than a decade.. I think you'd be a fan. A die hard fan. He has just an overall good attitude towards the play and he is FUN to watch, whether you hate the team he's on or love it. I was pissed when the whole thing happened this summer but he's still my favorite player from my time.

i doubt it is luck. he has played hurt all the time. so stop saying that it is all luck. broken fingers broken bones and etc. the man played through it and played through it well. give him some credit and then get the fuck out.
by the way, i'm not a packer fan at all.

Green Bay after the lombardi era was essentially nothing. He helped bring the franchise back to prominence, and started a shitload of games. You really have to live in this state to understand how huge packer football is. It's as big/even bigger often as the Red Sox in new england.

this was from a thread i posted in during the playoffs last year, which is janurary 2008

all the stats are of the end of the 2007 season

_____________________________________________________________________________

brady beats favre in

Career

QB rating 92.9-85.7

comp % 63%-61%

average yds per pass play 7.2-7

% passes that are TDs 5.4%-5.0%

% passes that are INTs (brady's is lower which is better) 2.4%-3.3%

superbowl RINGS 3-1

superbowl win % 100%-50%

playoff record 12-2 to 12-9

favre gets 4 more yds/game, but also has 2 more pass attempts every game, so i say that that's a tie.

the only thing that favre wins at are the records that take time to achieve.

This Season

QB rating 117.2-95.7

TD passes 50-28

INT 8-15

YDS 4806-4155

Comp PCT 68.9%-66.5%

% passes that are TDs 8.7%-5.2%

% passes that are INTS 1.4%-2.8%

yds/game 300.4-259.7

avg 8.3 yds-7.8 yds

20+ yd plays 56-49

now someone please tell me who the better quarterback is. Tom brady has had above average recievers ONLY this year

tru dat. id say brady is definitely the face of the league. not this year cause... well... i dont wanna talk about it. but its def either him or peyton

i like peyton too

ever since he did the little girly "i quit" "just kidding" thing people here in green bay like dont speak the name anymore. or speak lowly of him

I don't give him credit because every single NFL player plays through pain, It's part of their job and they just suck it up and do it.

The only difference is they don't bitch about it after the game like favre does. Saying his shoulder is hurt and he might retire before the season even ends is just an excuse for when he throws 3 picks and blows the game. NFL players don't make excuses

tom brady is great...but so is brett favre yes tom brady has 3 super bowl rings and will no doubt be in th ehall of fame just along with brett favre....tom brady has started 7 seasons right?...bretty favre has started 17 seasons and never suffered a serious injury...he also maintained those stats you posted through 16 seasons...brady still has some time to go to maintain those stats, i'm not saying he can't but thats still a long time...

and you have to consider the knee injury that brady has suffered, thats the hardest injury to come back from not alot of guys come back to full performance from that...give him 6 years then we can compare :)

and don't argue the superbowls cause obviously hes beating favre by 2.

Favre threw for a lot more touchdowns than Brady this year

Taking career stats is stupid. Comparing Favre's whole career to the most productive half of Brady's career is ridiculously partial. Lets come back to this after Brady retires.

I can't even address the original question, what has Favre done? you have to be retarted.

no im not retarded, im questioning why all of this god-like praise comes to this player after one superbowl and a careers worth of touchdown passes. He kinda reminds me of cal ripken and all of the praise he gets. both guys had one thing in common, they had a long streak of not getting the cold, and were both respectable players in their element, but neither did anything mind boggling

oh gee wizz, your comparing a healthy favre to an IR brady. oh wow, youre clever! ha! wow!

favre declined. he got worse as his career went on. since tom brady hasnt started declining yet, he is the better qb. maybe in 5 years (but most likely not) tom brady is a worse qb than favre. but not now, tom is way better

He's not god-like just becuase of the Superbowl or the MVP'S, he brings an attitude and a drive to the game unlike any other player. He's a gunslinger who doesn't give a shit what his stats are or how many interceptions he throws, he's just trying to win the game. He did all this while consistently putting up great numbers and winning games in miraculous fashions. And that was just the 90's. Now he has accumulated into a living legend. Maybe you look at him now, leading the league in interceptions, and are thinking that he doesn't deserve the hype but you must be forgetting the previous 17 seasons.

well you would win a game much easier if you didnt throw interceptions, wouldnt you? so if hes trying to win the game, wouldnt he try not to throw interceptions?

think about it....

maybe we all forgot that as he broke the record for most tds, he broke the record for most ints, the picks have always been there with the touch downs

hahaa my other thread got deleted, what a suprise on this site...

Pats blow and lost the most important game in the history of the NFL end of story

if i had to choose a qb for my team i would choose favre...brady is a great qb i wouldn't ever talk him down...but i like favre better in the situational football...favre new how to play when it really mattered...sure brady kicks teams asses making quick decisions and hitting his weapons...but wehn you look at favre and the things hes done he hasn't had an all star team you know? favre has taken so many more hits in his life than brady ever has, bradys offensive line has been stellar for the past 7 years...i'm a vikings fan i had to play against favre and yu could never count him and the packers out, favre could lead a team down the field in a minute he was so clutch in his prime...

but in all reality they are both amazing qb's but you can't even compare career stats right now, with that knee injury who knows how brady will bounce back, he could be the same, or it could be just something different that will throw off his game a smidge cuase he for surely will never be 100% again

ESPN sucks farves dick!!!! remember those weeks when he came out of retirement.... that all sports center talked about.......

does anyone else see farve as a rex grossman (the year he took the bears to the SB) like farve has his ups and downs like rex had..... im not saying they are exactly the same no no farve is multi times better the grossman was but still......

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHNAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

you have noooooo idea what youre talking about. situational football? you wanna talk situational football? like 2 minutes drills? no one is better than brady. superbowl 36. marched the pats down the field to win. same in superbowl 38 and 39. what the fuck does favre do in situational football? he gets erratic and nervous and throws a pick off of a dumb play that falls apart. brady's o line was stellar for 1 year. last year. thats it. you know favre had javon walker and donald driver right? they were pretty fucking good in their prime.

everyone on this site needs to stop bitching about brady's weapons. hes had them for ONE YEAR. ONE YEAR. the best he EVER had before last year was a 998 yd receiver in deoin branch. his best wr in 06 had like 700 something yds, reche caldwell. and guess what. we almost made it to the superbowl. brady won 3 sbs without a 1000 yd receiver

honestly, if you have no idea what youre talking about, dont speak

dude seriously shut the fuck up. nobody mentioned brady in this entire thread and that's all you talk about. do you beat off to all the ESPN mags with brady on the cover? god damn.

^hahaha so true, look at brad's old receivers, reshe(sp?) caldwell......doesnt play in the nfl, daniel graham-doesnt play, brady could turn shit into gold, he had ONE good receiver back in the day - deon branch, and he left us way back when, up until this moss - welker era, the pats had NO ONE, and trust me it showed

Here we go again. Brady didn't win 3 super bowls, the patriots did. And every year before last year he didn't put up that great of numbers so I fail to see your point. Given all things the same I would take a 31 year old Brett Favre over Brady. If Brady gets the whole patriots cast then I would have to go with him.

look who brady was throwing to all those years, look who he threw to last year....give brady any kind of weapon, he will use it to destroy you. he turns shit into gold and he turns gold into.......twice as much gold as before

one question who do you take in the 2 min. drill..... your boy brady < when he is healthy OR

the man which is manning< peyton that is...... idk about you but i would always pick peyton in that situation..... but hey what ever floats your boat.......

it seems that people that love him always seem to overlook his record of most interceptions thrown, and how he chokes a lot in big situations

id take brady, but i truly believe that peyton is in every way as good as brady, except arm power

id take brady cause im from boston, but peyton is a verrrry veeerrryyyy close second. these two guys are so far ahead of the rest of the nfl

and if you pick favre over brady, im not even gonna continue to argue, youre just flat out retarded

and peter., thank you, thats exactly what ns doesnt see

and eheath, brady tearing an acl was in no way his fault, youre a retard

its funny you say that cause bernard pollard the safety who tore bradys acl went to purdue, purdue football being my favorite thing to watch any ways i remember back in the day like i think it was 04 or 06 or when ever pollard still played at purdue i was like "dad, he is so awesome!!!! he is going to hurt so many people in the NFL!!!!!!!" come to find out it was brady.... haha sorry for the laughter but for real though i have pollards autograph!!!!!!

believe me i know what i'm talking about...and like i've said brady is a great qb you must have just skipped over that part in every post i have made about him...

tell me why though, mr superstar stud couldn't put the nail in the coffin against the wild card giants? he can't make the play under pressure, when tom brady is getting rushed upon he fucks up, he can't scramble...the biggest reason tom brady has put up the stats he did is his offensive line...that man has had more time in the pocket than any qb ever...i gaurentee you that you can take almost any qb...you can take tim fucking couch and put him at qb with that offensive line and he can find a reciever down field

i'll take brett favre over tom brady, i'll take eli manning, peyton manning, drew brees, philip rivers, jay cutler over tom brady...drew brees...now theres a qb.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

clearly, you do NOT know what youre talking about. nail in the coffin against the giants? are you fucking retarded? did you even watch the superbowl? with around 3 minutes to go, he threw what looked to be like the game winning touchdown, you idiot. then our defense stepped in and blew it, dumbass

you are so fucking retarded its unbelievable

tom is the BEST under pressure, dipshit. theres a reason why hes labeled mr clutch. hes got the best awareness in the nfl, no doubt. go ask any other pro football player or anyone who knows what theyre talking about. and enough with the any qb thing, it irritates me. tony romo has all the weapons in the world and cant put up near the numbers tom did. kurt warner has anquan and larry to throw to, and he cant put up record breakers either

go do some research or watch some football, then come back to me cause you obviously have no idea what youre talking about

and i want you to know that i am not attacking you in any way...and i know you are just a devoted fan to your pats...i enjoy the debate here...i'm not to devoted to any team in the nfl i like them all except for the steelers...though i do really like the vikings (home team) and the giants, titans, saints, eagles, and the broncos...the nfl is a blast...but if we wanted to talk devoted fan (minnesota twins!!!!!!!!!!) haha

but yes, again don't get me wrong i'm not knocking tom brady, hes great...just a different opinion i know how you boston/new england people are about your sport teams die hards...thats the only words that fit

career stats should not be used to argue this. favre has been playing a lot longer than brady and brady barely beats him in some categories. Lets wait and see if his stats are that good after playing for as long as favre did. I personally agree with the statement what is so good about favre because it really does make sense to question why all those cheese heads love him. he only won one superbowl and that is really the only thing that counts. I just think it is dumb to compare favres long career to bradys short career, you should only compare favres stats from the time brady started playing pro, not career.
