What Happens When you Don't Commit

Was my first ever attempt ever tho so just happy to have gotten upside down deadass. Definitely broke a mental barrier at the least

Nice job for sacking up and throwing a backie on snow! From a technical perspective here are some things I noticed:

1. Your eyes, when you throw a backflip you need to lead with your eyes. Keep looking 'up' as you rotate to spot the landing.

2. Pop- you didnt get a good pop off the lip to get your legs over your head.

Next time make sure to square up and keep your eyes level, get a good pop off the lip, use your eyes to guide your rotation, throw your legs over your head to keep the rotation momentum, then use your eyes to spot the landing.

Have you thrown backflips on a diving board or tramp? That will help a lot with your mechanics.

First day this season I literally could not commit to trying a rail I know I could do. Or even trying to learn switch lip on a basic box. Really sucks. Idk how to get my balls back lol.

Don’t land like this and remember when you start getting around to your feet, lean forward or you gonna land back seat boo...

Jesus the balls to try that first on hard snow. Someone correct me but op was going quite slow; that has to matter right?

I really want to try a backflip on skis when I can get out there I can backflip on a tramp and am curious if I should just send, I'm just nervous of fucking my back or neck up so ballsy you sent this.

You should probably do it into powder first or at least softer snow. A foam pit would be even better if you have access to it. I’ve never backflipped before so why should take this with a grain of salt and be safe.

It could help to go a bit faster but I think for a first try OP would be better off trying it on a jump with more lip. It really helps to set the rotation with a nice lip instead of having it all come from pop and having to set the flip yourself.

Yo does the extra weight of skis and boots make much difference? I can do them off bridges and whatever but the extra weight of the gear seems like it would slow down the rotation a lot

When you jump of a bridge or cliff you're static.

But when you hit a jump on skis, you have your speed and the angle of the jump to help with the rotation, so I would say it balances out for the extra weight.

If you can backflip of cliffs, you can backflip on skis. Its the same motion but you need to commit!

I'll follow up with an actual backflip tutorial real soon.

There is actually more to it then the eye can see - not really explainable in 2 short notes.

legit props for committing it bro !! you'll get it done no cap

Problem was I saw another dude do one there first and was like fuck it, this the spot!

Been there haha. Overall it definitely helps to see someone do the trick you're trying to do on the same feature
