What grab is this

What grab is it when you use you right hand and go down behind your right leg and grab the inside edge of your RIGHT ski.

I think it is so variation of Japan but i am not sure

ive never heard of that name and SSX is bullshit, no offense. what you described was a tail grab, there were lots of arguments back in the day over it cause some people thought it should be called a toxic when you grabbed the inside like that. true tail or blunt would refer to grabbing the very tip of your tail. and japan is right hand behind you grabbing your left ski
 
Except he's not grabbing the tail? So kind of nullifies it being a tailgrab.

If it's a variation on a Japan, then the grab is close to the binding.
 
I do them sometimes when im going for tail and grab to low. It doesnt really matter what it is called just do what traveling circus do and make your own name up for it and have fun doing it.
 
I never said that it was real I just pointed out that that is what a particular source called that grab.
 
i think hes talking closer to the binding, like you have to bring your right leg up to be able to reach it, instead of crossing your skis and bending your knees to reach toxic (inside edge, near your tail)
 
ye..cause i think he's talking about the grab when he's rotation his hand inside(pronation)..and not outside(supination)...like u do when u do a tailgrrab (or here a low tailgrab)
 
blunt is on the tip, toxic is high on the right edge. it can happen when you miss a blunt. Evan raps used to do a lot of em
 
I think hes right with the japan, but i think a japan is grabbing with your right hand on the left ski or left hand on the right ski? I couldnt see right to right or left to left looking like something cool at all?
 
seriously take my word for it. just call it a tailgrab. blunt is true tail. japan is right hand behind right leg grabbing inside tail of left ski. toxic, if you wanna split hairs is inside tail pretty sure, but i havent heard someone say toxic in like 6 years
 
when i grab it it is at the back of my boot and the inside edge with my left leg straight out am working on getting a picture.
 
Not really sure what you are describing.
Basically if you are going behind your leg it is a tail grab as long as it is behind the heel piece. Outside edge is called toxic, but no one uses that name anymore. Pretty much blunt,toxic and tail are just called tail grab these days because they are so similar.
Now if you are reaching around the front your shin, that is an inside saftey, you could technically go back behind your binding but eventually your balls are gonna get in the way.
naming grabs was sooo 2002 though. lol. Actually seriously though back then kids would argue for hours over the name of a trick or grab. Now days as long as it looks cool it doesn't really matter. We have lost so many grab names to history.
