What filters do you use to film skiing?

What filters do you guys use during a sunny day of skiing. I am looking to get some filters and I want to spend the money on the right ones. UV filters and ND filters in particular.

I have a 4 stop Hoya ND and a Hoya clear filter. Both are 77mm and I adapt them down to my smaller diameter lenses

my camera also has built in nd's, but i use often use tiffen polarizers as well. they're not the greatest, but they get the job done for cheap.

I have Tiffen Polarizers and a .6 ND filter. Like Erik said, they're not the highest quality, but for something like skiing I would rather not be using expensive filters and then end up breaking one somehow.

Tiffen UV a.k.a Haze filter. It's basically just a clear piece of glass that screws onto your lens meant to take the initial impact of anything so your lens doesn't.

Vari ND real useful, can easily twist it around to the amount of ND i'm looking for. UV for straight protection

This is entirely wrong. The uv SHOULD only be used by people to prevent scratches, or if you end up wiping your lens a lot and don't want to risk there being sand or something that scratches the lens, with the filter you could just replace it.

If there is an impact that would break through the front element, it would easily smash the filter, and still cause damage to the front element.

I mean, that is a function of a UV filter, it definitely helps protect the front element. that being saying, any heavy impact is gonna crush through the UV by just a small bump wouldn't go past the UV.

As for filters, I use a vari-nd and a 1.8nd and usually no filter if im filming low light.

That's what I meant, I assumed it was common knowledge how strong a 2mm piece of glass is and that it wasn't going to stand up to a bullet...
