What ever happened to winter?

Pretty much the title says it all. It is fucking shitty weather here in northern ontario canada right now. Were are coming on the end of november, and we are getting +8 C. This is fucking bullshit, i hate this weather. Anybody else in the same situation?
 
im in S.W. maine and its just as bad even though i don't know what 8 C is in farenheit but im sure it sucks

i was also skiing by this time too last year

it was my first time skiing b4 thanksgiving
 
same in orillia ontario. like 6 degrees today. horshoe is suposed to open some time next week though.
 
man we're so screwed in ontario. there was some frost this morning on my car. but then it all melted. i was up north last weekend and it snowed a good 10 cm though and actually stayed on the ground too. melted eventually though
 
Tell me about it. Western New York here. Buffalo. It's been getting close to the teens at night, but then during the day it's hitting mid-50s.

It was colder in October than November.

Cold next weekend (forecasted). But it's going to be 2 weeks before anywhere opens because they've got no snow on the ground.

But I can't even put faith in that because they said it would be snowing this weekend, last weekend.
 
Yea but remember that Winter doesn't officially start till December 21. Everyone is complaining that we don't have snow now, but I can remember times where he haven't seen snow until after x-mas.
 
everyone except the canadian rockies. our resorts are nearly 100% open. almost all the double blacks are open and its been snowing non stop for the last week and a half. sucks to be in ontario
 
it has been like that in montana until today, it snowed all last night, but are mountain still isent open
 
Eh, only thing is, Holiday Valley,(local hill nearby) nearly always opens the day after thanksgiving.

Not even close this year.And it's really looking like it will be 2 more weeks at minimum before they do.

That is a HORRIBLE start to a season. Nearly 14 days off the average seasons pace.
 
its not early.........by now where i am, we are suppost to get at least a foot of the white gold. This is looking to be the worst snow season......EVER. This fucking sucks, but i guess im going to get good at rails.

 
well its -29 here with the windchill and ive shredded 10 days already.

that's exactly what i was going to say.

calgary is freeeeeeezing. i got frostbite on my fingers last night waiting for the bus. and its only sposed to get colder for the weekend.
 
Sunday I'll be in Saas Fee Switzelrand where there's about 109 cm of fresh powder right know... With a dope park wich isn't bad.
 
^well I'm waiting to ski on trail, not even top to bottom tomorrow opening day at my mountain. man made snow and its suppose to be like 50 during the day
 
you lucky son of a bitch. i skiied at my local hill yesterday that just opened and it as 2 trails, neither groomed. and now we are supposed to get a heat front. life blows
 
Weak el nino, northwest is doing amazing, arctic fronts from the north west, and from the south west are blasting warm fronts across the US
 
I was skiing over-the-shoulder powder on this day last year, but right now all we have for snow is about a 12-18" slab of ice on the mountains. But there's a chance of heavy snowfall over the next few days, so that could change.
 
im in roch. new york and its been raining and 40 degrees (farenheit) and 50 on some days...sucks so much
 
im in ohio (near dayton) and today i believe it was close to 60F and we had a layer of snow last thursday in the morning but it was gone by midday.

one day its decently cool, the next its close to 50F.

ohio sucks!
 
mt baker has a 90" base, so it has the most snow of any ski area in north america... again.

all the mountains in washington, southern BC and oregon have a healthy serving of snow. got to ski just bottomless pow turkey day and today.
 
Yea its gettin fuckin aggrevating. I've had jibs set up since the first week in October and we where gettin highs of zero and 1 so i was all pumped that winter was coming, then all of a sudden the last two weeks it went to like plus 12 and rain and now its droped to highs of 7 and 8 some nights not even goin below zero. So now here where are at the end of October and I have less jibs up then I did 2 weeks ago and Im gettin snow from the rink down the street 2ice as much.
