I'm wondering what type of rig should I get, I do a lot of static shots but the occasional moving shots, should I get a handheld, shoulder or something like a glidecam

What type of filming are you doing? Narrative? Skiing? Other sports? Its really dependent on that. Shoulder rigs (in my experience), provide a much more "natural motion" shot, which is great for narratives/films. Glidecams are great for filming skiing and other sports, as theyre much smaller and easier to move with while skiing/running.

A little bit of both, but mostly skiing and other action sports

Very low/no budget:

DIY fig rig

Monopod if it fits with your style

A few hundred:

Glidecam HD series

Tripod, the manfrotto 701 head is supposed to be pretty good, higher budget the sachtler ace is great

Going up from here, you could look at something like a movi (though I reccomend looking at other models, google 3 axis gimbal)

I'll probably go with a glidecam but i'm also wondering if a chest stabilizer is any good for skiing?

I can't speak for the chest stabilizer, but if you are filming the whole day with a relatively heavy setup, glidecams can get heavy and your arm will get tired
