Should we no longer ride park, and move to Mica Creek to ride sick lines with T$ all day? I mean... if thats where he claims that 'real' skiing is headed, I guess that straight-ing off big mountain shit in Alaska all day is where skiing is 'progressing?' Wait, its not progressing! Sure, Tanner is preaching the idea that people need to ski out of the park, but straight-ing shit in Alaska has been done for the past few DECADES!
 
wow dude you are reading way too much into this. It's a video teaser. It's not like Tanner is on a pulpit declaring what we should do.
 
you dodn't have to like it but you defintatly have to respect what he is doing.

I mean i dodn't think he is denying that park riding is legit i think he is only pushing his own skiing in a different direction. Its the same with Mahre, Pollard and Pep.

Its intersting to note that they don't get half as much hate as T$. just an observation ....

andy, pollard, and pep are PROGRESSING THE SPORT by spinning and riding backwards in places where we thought it couldnt be done. Tanner is riding Alaska like 50+ other big mountain rippers, which is not progression. Yet he wants us to believe him...
 
It's sweet he has moved into the big mountain arena. But, I'd rather watch him ski park and leave a majority of the big mountain stuff to Sage and the like. They just do it way better.

Tanner just wants us to believe that he will always be the best skier ever, and depending on who you ask, maybe he is. But what pissed me off was after he got second place at the WSC to Simon Dumont and he goes on this rant about vikings thousands of years ago skiing, and thats where the sport should go. If just sounded like he really felt he had to justify losing to Dumont, because he was too busy taking the sport in the "better direction"
 
i have no idea what hes meaning and you dont need to like the teaser. it seems like another skier is getting hated on each week. last week it was travis heed now its tanner. next people are going to be saying jon's dub flips are old and we should go back to liking sw 10's
 
but he preached about the vikings after he WON xgames so you cant blame it on the fact that he didnt win.

I think that he is just tired of the same ol park skiing and that he gets disgusted when some kid can throw a cork 9 in the park but cant even ski down a ungromed trail.

I dont really disagree with him but i understand that everyone cant go out and ski sick tarrain day after day.

skiing big mountain is awesome and it is too progressing the same with park

some of the lines we do today for example the pillow line in beleive would never have been done a few years back and also think about falls if you fall in a narly line in the real mountains your probably going to die thats why park is progressing more
 
I agree and I like the riding in the trailer BUT

Tanner is claiming a form of progression CR, Abma, Seth, Fujas and Pollard have been killin the shit out of for a few yrs already, Thall is good at the big mtn jib scene, but he's not as good at big mtn steeze as those other guys, YET. I guess the believe part means he believes he will be as good at big mtn pow as those guys someday.
 
well, im gonna sack up and say that i DID enjoy the teaser. i thought the shots looked really good and it looked like there was a ton of control in the skiing. fun to watch. im looking forward to the movie and the other teasers that come out.

and if i had to give my 2 cents about what to believe, id say that weve all had those days where you get back to the car or you get to the bottom of the line and look back up and you wanna say, unbelievable! i cant believe how amazing that pillow felt, i cant believe how many face shots i just got, i cant believe i conquered my fear of that cliff! well, believe. haha but i could be wrong.
 
word i personally thought the trailer was sick and it was something different and there is obviously going to be some urban and parks stuff but there is also goingot be some dope big mountain as well, looks like a well rounded vid judgin from what i just saw
 
as much as everyone is going to hate this, tanner is an amazing skier, who else can win the x games and then go do a pillow line like the one at the end of believe teaser. and i don't think he's trying to stand on some tower and decide what freeskiing is, its just a fucking ending to a trailer.... oh and for the kids that say big mountain is progressing the sport, you're probably the same ones who sit around and think you could ski big mountain, well guess what, its a shitload harder then it looks, and personally i think its the purest part of our sport, and the lines in that trailer, namely the pillow line are definately proggressing the sport. thats all
 
ya i respect what he's doing and all, and hell i wanna do shit like that for the rest of my life if i could, but seriously... wtf are you tryin to sell movies about yourself man? like, its cool having a movie about tons of ppl with lots of segments, and having like 5 different companies make different movies that all have different segs in them, but an entire movie about you?!? c'mon
 
he can do whatever he wants, but to a lot of us the park is the only fun thing we have access to. not everyone lives in places with nice BC, most of us cant afford it...so we ride the pow lines we can get on good days and stick to whats fun on other days. we dont all have to be vikings.
 
Tanner is the shit, this sport owes a ton to him, but he IS NOT you.

Just ski for yourself.

Not sure how many more times that will be said before people will get it.
 
I dont know about the rest of you guys but did you see any straght lining mountains ? NO didnt think so
 
Big mountain is fun but it isn't where the sport should go, i mean come on how many of us can just go heli skiing whenever we feel like it. The best thing for skiing is urban and park
