how old are you? when I was a kid I thought my dad was crazy for wearing them. They actually hurt to wear. Once your feet toughen up they become the best things though. kind of like a light food massage.

I just hate wearing boardshorts unless I am actually at the beach. They are not as durable, they have no real pockets, they get dirty quicky, beach fires burn holes through them, etc. They are so light you can stuff them in a sidepocket in your pack and they will always be there when you need them. In the summer I have boardies that just live in my pack and in my truck. Once they are dry though I'm gonna put normal clothes back on.
