Alright, I know this is a pretty stupid thread, but I want to know the general consensus people have about who has it the worst, the East Coast or the Mid-West and why?

This thread is not intended to become a fight between regions, I'm just curious about what other people think, especially people out west.

And no I'm not complaining about conditions in the midwest, I love the midwest and it loves me too.

Yo I be reppin da east all day erry day. But really aside from perfect north the Indiana area kinda sucks from my experience so I would say the east is better plus we get more snow from what I've seen.(I have family in Indiana) No hate and rep your hood.

Well Indiana certainly doesn't encompass the entirety of the Midwest. But I'd say that the Midwest is probably worse off, although our scene is definitely pretty strong, I just don't think a lot of people know about it or it gets as much exposure as it should.

yeah. i ski in VA and it sucks ass. PA sucks pretty bad too. skiing in vermont, maine and new hampshire is really awesome, so the midwest is worse than that, but i would say the midwest and mid atlantic are tied for the worst

I dont think this is even a question... the midwest is by far the worst. Why can I make such a conclusive argument? The midwest doesn't have mountains, the east does. Seriously, all midwest resorts are just on big hills. Mountains like Sunday River, Stowe/Killy, etc at least have nearly the vertical that many west coast resorts have, they are just at overall lower elevations and don't have the snow or the spread. The Midwest has nothing in terms of off piste skiing. End of story. (p.s. I say this as a former East coast and now midwest resident.)

come on. this isnt even a question. east has fuckin loon and mt snow and so many resorts similar. try living in ohio where it is 60 degrees in late november, mid january, and latte march. and BMBW closed the day of the huge snowstorm last year in january because of "too much snow" i had to hit urban on our only snowday

takin da words right out of my mouth.

The east gets a bad rap, but some of the mountains are actually really good.

generally true, except for da UP in MI does have a few hills with decent vert (800ish ft) with 300 inches a year and killer woods. One has two lifts the others are all earn your turns. but it's so far north it might as well be considered Canada

The middle of the Atlantic? I wouldn't think the scene there is very good. All whales are migratory turtles.

East by far. Here in the midwest we have no form of mountains. i wouldnt even call my closest 3 resorts hills.... more of lumps or bumps. but up north there are some decent places.. just nothing compared to anywhere else
