What do you drive to the hill?

This is what I would definitely get if I had some extra cash lying around and needed a vehicle for in the mountains. A 1993 Mitsubishi Pajero 3dr.

serious:

i exaggerated a little to point out that we drove these "pinzgauers" with standard wintertyres. but AWD, a few differentials and so on brought us anywhere where a standard car with the best tyres in the world cant even dream about....

of course you need winter tyres when your living in a place that means you have to drive certain slopes/hills all the time, but the car itself needs a little power too.

but yeh i wish i could fly would make shit sooo easy
 
yeah i had a buddy that traded his lifted wrangler for an element, and he loves it... how well does it do in snow though?

and those saabs are kind of tight nowadays... i saw a couple guys above are fans, are they pretty deece in the snow?

yes, tires are definitely important, i completely agree... but for the most part, around the PNW the troopers require either chains or AWD, and i'd prefer not to get out of my car in frigid frozen balls temperatures on the freeway... so its AWD for me...

not too sure about the new grand cherokees though... i fuckin love my bimmer, but the thing is absolute shit in the snow, so it's time for a change

Not 4WD but lots of torque and low profile tires get me up there with chains. Plus its a hatchback so I don't need to buy a rack.
 
95 Isuzu Trooper, the thing is a tank. Put it on it's side earlier in the year and it just got a little dented up.
 
jea i fuckin want an aero, i used to roll a 97 9000 cs( base) shit was a beast, decently quick, but i got hit at a red light by some jackass. so now im driving a 2000 saab 9-3 base, its a lot nicer/afster than my old 9k, and for FWD cars they were/are both beastly in the ice and snow.

volkswagen jetta tdi with snow tires, only 2wd so if it's super shitty and icy i'll borrow my dad's f350 diesel
 
2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5gt wagon w/ 5 speed.

Manual transmission is crucial for snow/ski car IMO. Subaru's own all.
