What do people think about Andri Ragettli?

At first I didn't pay that much attention but he is becoming more of a name on the competitive circuit. Feel like he hucks the jumps and the judges knock him for that but he has surprised me with his skill especially on the rails. Not too may people can land a quad... Will he be a threat to the US boys in the Olympics?

And has anyone seen his parkour training vid?? Insane...

I was honestly a little skeptical on him due to his comp based style until I interviewed him for the ski is life podcast. He's a cool guy along with pretty much every other skier no matter the type. People like to widen the gap between film skiers and comp skiers but they both respect eachother and have equal validity in their skiing.

He is really really really good at skiing. Could do Magnus/LSM tricks if he wanted to, but they couldn't throw down half the stuff that he has in his bag, kind of skiier.

I agree that he hucks super hard and personally I don't really enjoy watching him ski. With that said, yes, he could have a strong showing at the coming Olympics. At the very least, he will become a more prominent force on the comp scene as time goes on... isn't he like 18 or 19?

I disagree with the part about Magnus and lsm. Magnus and lsm have tons of tricks that are super difficult although they look laid back and stylish. (For example lsms one footer back surface on the skinny rail in his slvsh game at that indoor ski place) . Maybe he could learn alot of their tricks a lots of practice but how can you not say Magnus and lsm couldn't learn lots of his tricks with lots of practice. Also, he's 18.

maybe he couldn't do it first try, but I think he could probably get that in less than an hour if he was hot lapping the rail, but I don't think LSM could learn to quad 18 in an hour, no offense to lsm I love his skiing and he does some insane stuff, but it's hard to compare who could do what when these guys obviously have very different styles of skiing

Valid point

Dude is a boss. I can think of only a few skiers that have his level of skill on jumps, and he's still comparatively young. People might not like his "comp" style but those people don't understand the reality of mobbing through a park as hard as possible all while keeping their body as composed as possible. Realistically his strength and abilities to stomp the piss out of just about any trick he tries just make things look casually perfect and sterile. Granted there are other skiers I would prefer to see a video part from, and other skiers I would like to see attack a slopestyle course over Andri, but just to blatantly hate because of his "huckster" mentality is ignorant. Andri has crazy skills on the skis, he's obviously worked insanely hard on and off the slopes to reach the level that he is at, and im more than stoked to see what he will bring to this competitive season and to see how others try to keep up with his air assault.
