I wanted to be a Soldier or firefighter, Im about to be sworn into the Fire Dept and I'm taking the FDNY test in February. So I'm actually living out something Ive wanted to do which makes me quite happy.

So what did you want to do? and what do you now?

doctor, then about 10 i decided i wanted to be like my dad and be an engineer. Applying to engineering schools soon, so I too am living a childhood dream :D

I still am growing up and now something in the ski industry that pays well and allows me to ski a lot and when actually working be doing ski related stuff.

When I was younger I wanted to be a pro baseball player

I see what you did there...

I'm pretty sure when I was a little kid I told my parents I wanted to be a taxi/bus driver so I could drive to China hahaha

I wanted to play football for the Philadelphia Eagles. Why? I have no idea since I have no connections to Philadelphia nor do I know anyone who does.

I wanted to be a marine biologist, then an arcitect, now i am kind of split between Some type of engineer, Or entepeneur. My dream is to make a savings then retire from whatever job i have at like 45 and open an art studio.

Astronaut, baker, truck driver, and pilot in no specific order. Needless to say I have moved on to desire a business major in college.

I'm serious. Isn't that what you all wanted/want to be? Maybe I could work hard and be a lwyer or a doctor and have 2 kids and a hot wife and have a $200,000 sallary, but all i really want to do is ski. of course a job is mandatory, but if i can ski till im 30 proffesionally and live off of that then why not.

I think OP wanted to be a repost, it came true!

But maybe its not, idk i remember some one making a thread about it.

But ill contribute nonetheless.

I wanted to be a professional skier so bad when i was like 10, but that dream came to an end. Now i want to one day open up my own ski shop, hopefully it will come true!

i wanted to be everything, any time i played a sport i wanted to go pro, i wanted to be a soldier, a cowboy/mountain man, a fighter pilot, an astronaut, and a race car driver. im working on the later, if that doesnt work, id really like to go for being a fighter pilot, if im not too old by then. and then i figure when im older, ill get a place with a lot of land in the mountains, and get to be a mountain man too. so yeah, hopefully atleast a couple of my dreams work out.

never wanted to be a pro skier that bad, just do it for fun.

When i was young i wanted to be a policeman but now I want to move out west when im older and have a job hopefully ski related that i enjoy and lets me ski often.

nothing is impossible, look at rob gaffney, maybe he doesnt get out as often as his friends, but hell, hes more invloved in skiing than most other people of his age, and especially his career. M.D.? And still helping the sport to evolve?

Hell that doesnt sound too bad to me. All it takes is work right?

I fucking love it. The worst part is taking general bio classes because you have to learn about genetics and all that and im not very good with that stuff. But as you get more into the more specified classes it gets a lot better. It helps that I find all of it super interesting and that all my life I have loved everything about water and the life in it.

So make it your goal to make enough to retire by thirty five then ski bum it until your knees have no cartalidge left. All i am saying is dont hedge your bets on going pro in skiing. yea to some point you can accomplish whatever with work but going pro in skiing along with alot of other things also takes luck.

when i was little i wanted to be a pilot
now im leaning towards a filming career in the ski industry. Since im planning to go to MSU id be more than stoked to film with TSP. but i still need alot more experience

wanted to be a pro baseball/football player. Then graduated high school and wanted to be a park ranger...then realized they made no money and they lived like a hermit for thhe most part, so i became a civil engineer.

i wanted to be an entomologist (study of bugs) my dad told me about it when i was a kid and it sounded cool. also i was overly confident i would become a pro skateboarder

Police Officer

Olympic Figure Skater

Detective

Famous Singer

Crime Scene Investigator

Forensic Scientist

Pharmacist (went into pre-pharm last year, decided against that one)

Currently, I have a few things I kind of want to do but don't have my heart set on anything. I haven't any idea what career paths are actually out there.

I think i wanted to be a pro skateboarder, but now i wanna be a phototgrapher for nation geografic.....that would be so sick

"People used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I'd tell them, 'Gee, I dont think I really want to do that.'"

As a child, I wanted to be a pro baseball/football/basketball player. Once I got into late middle school and early high school, I decided I wanted to become an orthopedic surgeon for a pro sports team. I realized a little later, that I didn't really want to go through all the schooling. I had several family members, including my dad, who were firefighters, so I went in that direction. I spent 6 years as a firefighter, then decided to go into the ski industry full time on a large scale. Now I've realized that the ski industry sucks balls, and I'll be going back into firefighting ASAP.

Haha oh I was just referring to the fact that everyone makes fun of you for being 13 and you phrased that in the present tense...

I'd pay attention in genetics class. That stuff is becoming more and more integrated w the rest of biology and if you're looking into the research side of marine biology you'll want it.
