1. I've posted videos multiple times. Once while "called-out" Rparr seemed to be happy with my 2 year old garbage clips on a wall ride feature.

Not gonna lie, back in the day I never really liked the way jiberish, saga, voleurz, eira, first drop etc looked. They identified a trend in the snow community and cashed in on it. Yea the edits and teams were cool and we got some iconic styles/content out of it.

nowadays when you see all the kids with harlaut pants or rocking the weird 90s vibe stuff swerving, its just ironic. Those styles came to fruition from people going outside of the box to create something new and interesting, then it becomes mass market because everyone wants to look like that.

Im not saying its bad for the skiing community, obviously there is more bread to pass around, therefore more people can have a seat at the table.

im saying its kind of sad to see it happen, it makes me feel like skiing is only around to promote sales and it doesnt mean much beyond that.

Yep. Epitome of this was when Jiberish tried to cash in on the early 2010s streetwear trend and reposition themselves to that market. They always kept a ski team, but I think there was a pretty distinctive shift that they've never fully recovered from.

I do think this is why Arsenic is especially dope. Dan is the fucking man and is clearly invested in the actual ski community.

The weird peacoat and skinny pants drop was brutal. I think the jackets sat in the store for a year. I agree their clothes have been a bit too reserved since, Jiberish got famous for making crazy shit.

im not disagreeing, i just wanna know what is considered "invested". I cant say i know much about him/anyone. havent really followed movies, stories, videos or any of that sort of media.

all i know is he started arsenic and and snow.share

I think snow.share is actually a great example. Agree that its developed into more of a standard re-sell platform, but the original intent was for it to be used to reuse and repurpose gear at homie prices. (Towards the beginning I bought a really nice jacket for like $50 for example). Dan used to refuse to repost stuff for people that weren't marking their stuff down enough or trying to make profit. Literally just a platform to help people find quality gear at good prices which I think is cool af.

In terms of Arsenic, I think the BYOB events are so so dope, just getting people together to hang out, eat food, have fun together, etc. is really cool.

He seemingly hooks up all relevant skiers, (or at least they buy his gear) regardless of their style and I think its pretty telling that pretty much ALL sponsored skiers choose to wear Arsenic over other brands.

He promotes and provides an outlet for the WTRP edits that likely wouldn't get the viewership (or potentially even be made) otherwise.

He partners with other dope small scale ski-related artists and designers. A kid I was friends with in high school painted the boxing glove hoodie and he's also done stuff with others like Laura Obermeyer, Lizard Stuff, and Vishnu. (I'm sure there are countless other examples here that I cant event think of)

Not to mention - he actually engages with people on here. Even tho NS is relatively small nowadays, it baffles my mind that other brands or pros dont take advantage of this site. (Also shoutout Emmet here) He frequently chimes in on threads, responds to customers (and trolls) and generally just has a positive presence that I've seen lacking from other brands.

TL;DR - Dan is the shit and IMO Arsenic the best thing going in skiing rn

yea i dont get what B is on about in this case. brand seems legit, doesnt mean he HAS to like it.

i think in another thread he mentioned he doesnt like the direction ski culture is going in general, which is also fair. But dragging dan through the mud, when hes clearly making an effort to give back, is not so cool.

Haven’t gotten anything but man those answer pants are fire. I got the first drop of the black ones and wear daily in the winter, mostly around town
