What did vail do to ruin your resort

Destroy local economies by commercializing the concept of a ski town and making it impossibly expensive to live in a town with vail owned resort

This is any resort haha. Aspen is worse. Never seen a ski town with gucci until I went to aspen.

Got rid of whistler park, got rid of the the park chair on blackcomb and moved it a little for more family friendly riders.

Blackcomb park fun for going hard but there was nothing like vibing and flowing through whis park.

At mount snow, Vail has..

-Doubled the price of our season passes since 2019 ($375 to $679)

-Overpopulated the place by atleast 100%.

-Took our free parking at Carinthia (terrain park peak) and made it $15. Took the $15 parking lot and made it $30.

-Upped price of food, lowered quality

-Infested the trails with these sneaky little bitchy Yellow Jacket Vail employees that chase skiers like cops when they ski “too fast” claiming they’re going to clip your pass

-Downsized our terrain parks. The features are ok, but not as creative/inspiring as they used to be.

-No cash allowed anywhere on site

-The mountain merch store is painfully mid

-More blackout dates for season pass holders

-Almost all the lifties are here on a work visa, that way they don’t have to pay local residents a livable wage.

I could talk about this topic all day, it’s sad tho because pretty much everyone just shrugs their shoulders and moves on. We should be boycotting, or at the very least vandalizing.

Its very frustrating to see these places we love get more and more corporate every year

I hate how lazy our park crew has become. The park has 0 creativity at all and on busy days park crew does not rake lips, sometimes there isnt even a lip onto a rail.

oh man, don't even get me started, that is basically the reason I stopped skiing there. Even before the vail buyout, the quality of the parks had just become so unacceptable that it became very hard for me to even have fun skiing there. They always like to blame our crummy weather, but perfect north builds much better parks every year with significantly warmer weather.

The rails are also stickier than shit at bmbw because they leave the rails out in the mud all summer long each year and they get incredibly rusty.

The place was doomed even before the vail buyout tbh.

The rails in the mud and rust is ridicoulous. if we dont coat the whole rail multiple times in cooking spray it is unhittable.

I mean those days are usually dreadful, but it would be nice to have the option since we spent almost 700 fuckin dollars ?

buy the full pass if you don't want blackout dates my g. I understand you're mad that vail runs mt snow, but you bought the locals pass and I don't blame you, I did the same thing.

The blackout days at PC are usually some of the chiller days on hill, everyone (including me) buys a local pass so there are far less people skiing. (source: i had a full pass when they gave me a pass in the past)

How much was an adult pass to mt snow before vail took over?

I actually don’t really care for riding on the days that are blacked out, I was just adding onto my list of what Vail has done to make shit worse.

Also I’ve always had the adult pass, so 375 for the adult epic northeast local pass… back when it was called the drifter pass, man those were the days

Tried to apply the "one size fits" style of management to an already successful program, and trying to re-invent the wheel for east coast snowmaking.

Fumbled snowmaking so hard that Wildcat went from opening on Veterans Day some years to being one of the last ski areas to open in the state.

yeah. wildcat used to be great. i think i skied there once on the second weekend on november. i don't think they ever beat K but they were always first in new hampshire to open. that was the worst vail casualty.
