What did I just do to my knee?

Hey Doctor NS....

So I just bailed off my longboard. Not going fast at all - wheels just clipped my pushing foot and I went down pretty hard. Best part about the whole thing was that I did it in the middle of a busy intersection

The first thing I noticed was that me knee hurt, a lot. I walked home (which should indicate its not broken) but I can't bend my knee more than 80 degrees or so. It seems like I'm getting better, but I have no idea.

I don't have a lot of experience with knee injuries - which might seem strange being a skier - so I was wondering if anyone had anything similar happen to them.

If it doesn't get better tonight I'll go get an X-Ray/Real Doctor's opinion tomorrow.

i have absolutely no idea because i cant see your knee, but it could just be swelling. if your knee is too swollen, it cant bend. id go to a doctor if it doesnt go away in the next day or 2.

Just strained it, ice it and you will be fine. If you heard a large click or pop during your crash that would be more sketch but with long boarding very often, you will lock your knee by pushing or falling off really often. I'm knee injury prone ha. but nah you'll be fine smoke a bowl watch a good movie, ice for 15 heat for 15 and feel good

yeah you definitely just sprained it - it's now just swollenTHis happened to my ankle skating about 2.5 weeks ago, i thought it was definitely fractured/broken but it turned out it was just a sprain. If it is a really bad sprain get ready for about 3-4 weeks of healing!

there are many different ways to stop on a longboard. If you have any knowledge of the sport its really not that dangerous. Most longboarding crashes are at slow speeds anyway unless your getting into some ridiculous DHing

nothing too bad i think, keep it warm and still for a time, it'll better....
also try to gently stretch it, don't overdo it, but keeping it still for long time isn't all that good either...
i just recovered from something similar while skiing my backyard rail...
