What characteristics of certain songs make them good for edits/videos

So I have always had a hard time finding songs that work great for edits. What are some things (rhythm, style, etc...) that certain songs have that make them work well for edits and videos. Also, what types of songs go well with what types of edits/videos (backcountry, park, urban, etc...).

Here are my thoughts:

New Rap (Chief Keef, Skepta, etc) - aggresive park skiing, not alot of slo mo, fast cuts

Old Rap (NWA, Wu-Tang, etc) - chill park skiing, lots of slo mo and tall tees, more about style

alternative style music - more for backcountry but works for park

at least thats what i think
